Annual Benefit Dinner
Annual Benefit Dinner
L’Dor Vador. Values and traditions
passed from parent to child,
generation to generation. For many
years, this was done covertly (or
not at all) in the countries of the
former Soviet Union. Today, that
has changed, and Project Kesher
has been on the forefront of this
transformation.
Annual Benefit Dinner
Michele Cohen was
introduced to Project Kesher
through her daughter Barrie
who, at age 15, suggested they
travel together to Russia on
our 2004 Voyage on the Volga.
Shortly thereafter, Michele
joined the Project Kesher
Board and co-chaired our
Summit on the Black Sea trip.
Annual Benefit Dinner

Annual Benefit Dinner
Michele,
From the Volga River to the shores of the
Black Sea, we have traveled with you to
faraway places and have seen the many
facets of Michele -- the artist, the visionary,
the activist.
Your warmth and the support you have given
to each of us personally, and to Project
Kesher has meant so much.
And Miriam was a weaver of unique
variety the tapestry she wove was
one which sang our history.
With every strand and every thread
she crafted her delight!
- Debbie Friedman
We feel lucky to know you and work with
you. Congratulations to our board member
and friend.
May we go from strength to strength.

family as it is to yours.
It means so much to me to celebrate with you a day all of
Project Kesher is honoring you.

Good Giving: Project Kesher
Imagine a growing cadre of young Jewish women
and girls openly and actively engaged in Jewish
learning and social activism in the countries of the
former Soviet Union. Support Project Kesher’s
Next Generation Program in Russia, Ukraine,
Belarus, Moldova and Georgia by underwriting
programs including, Mother-Daughter seminars
and teen retreats ensuring the continuity of Jewish
life in the region.
Annual Benefit Dinner
Good Giving: Project Kesher - Israel
Imagine your child is a soldier who cannot be
buried in a Jewish cemetery or, that you need to
leave your country to be married. The Russianspeaking population in Israel is often marginalized
by their lack of understanding of their rights as
citizens and their limited Jewish knowledge. This
project will empower PK-Israel women to engage
more fully in Jewish life by providing Jewish
learning and entry points to multiple
denominations in the Jewish community and
educating them about their right to advocate for
their interests as Israeli citizens.

She seeks out wool and linen and her hands work willingly
Her hands she stretches out to the distaff and her palms support the spindle

Give her but the fruits of her own hands and let her be praised at the gates for her
very own deeds”
