Jean de la Rosette, MD
Dr de la Rosette is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology, at AMC
University Hospital in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He completed his medical degree
and urology residency at St Radboud University Hospital in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
He subsequently was appointed consultant urologist and Director Minimal Invasive
Urology at the Department of Urology at the St Radboud University Hospital in
Nijmegen.
Dr de la Rosette is the chairman of the committee on Minimal Invasive Treatment of
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) of the International Consultation on BPH. He is also
chairman of the committee on Renal Stone Disease of the International Consultation on
Stone Diseases. Both consultations are patronised by the World Health Organisation
(WHO). He is chairman of the European Society of Uro-Technology (ESUT) and board
member of the Society of Endourology. He is a member of the executive board of the
Société International d’Urologie (SIU). Dr. de la Rosette was chairman of the European
Association of Urology (EAU) working party on BPH guidelines.
Dr de la Rosette is author of over 400 peer reviewed publications and has authored
many book chapters. He is the editor of books in the field of laparoscopy, renal
carcinoma, prostate diseases, urological imaging and voiding dysfunction. He is also on
the editorial board of the Journal of Endourology, the Journal of Urology, BJU
International, the Central European Journal of Urology and European Urology. Dr de la
Rosette is a member of various urological societies: e.g. the International Continence
Society (ICS), the American Urological Association (AUA), the European Association of
Urology (EAU) and the Société International d’Urologie (SIU).
He is strongly committed to research and has been appointed as chairman of the CROES
(Clinical Research Office of the Endourology Society). Dr. de la Rosette is the scientific
chairman of the World Congress on Endourology 2012. He furthermore organizes the
Challenges in Endourology meeting and the annual symposium on Focal Therapy and
Imaging in Prostate and Kidney Cancer.
