Elvin Price Brattin, age 65, of
Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away
Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Saint
Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Price was born May 26, 1948,
in Wheaton, Missouri, the son of
Cecil and Dorisalee (Price) Brattin.
On June 12, 1971, in Columbia,
Missouri, he was united in marriage to Jolinda Sloto, who survives. Also surviving are three
children, Joel Brattin (Christine)
of Seattle, Washington, Julie Knowles
(Graham), and Joanie Joseph (Cris) of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; his father, Cecil Brattin
(Carolyn) of Wheaton, Missouri; one sister, Kathy Arnold (Roger) of Pierce City,
Missouri and eleven grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his mother, Dorisalee Brattin and one sister, Leanne Brattin.
Price grew up in Wheaton, Missouri and
graduated from Wheaton High School with
the Class of 1966. In 1971, he received his
Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture
from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri; in 1974, he received his

Master’s Degree in Accounting.
He became a Certiied Public Accountant in 1975. He was a consultant and trainer for Solomon
Software, which later became
part of Microsoft. He then became a Microsoft Certiied Consultant. Price made a career as a
large scale accounting software
consultant, software developer
and founder of Bueno Software
Inc. He was an active member of
Tulsa Rotary International and
Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
His family was always the most important part of his life. Trips, coaching grandchildren’s basketball teams and
Jefrey’s golf team at Thoreau Middle
School, breakfasts, excursions, and many
lessons in life and stories were shared
by Pop. Price was an honest and honorable man and loved by all who knew him.
A memorial service for Price will be
held Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 10:00
A.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church
in Tulsa. A funeral service and burial
will be in Wheaton, Missouri on Friday.

Virginia Mae Powell went to
be with her Lord on February
10, 2014. She was born on June
4, 1929 in Springield, Missouri.
Virginia was a devoted wife,
loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and mentor.
She leaves behind her beloved
husband of 65 years, Vern, a
brother, Don Johnston of Kennewick, Washington, her son, David
and his wife, Judy of Joplin, Missouri; her daughters, Julie Patridge and husband, Jerome of Spring, Texas
and Lisa Duncan and husband, David of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren and many dear friends.
She served the Lord faithfully and
shared the Word by teaching bible classes

away in Tulsa, OK on February

Jim was born in Oklahoma City,
OK to Cecil Gray Wells, Sr. and Nellie Purviance Wells on September
20, 1924, although he grew up in
Tulsa. Graduating from Oklahoma
Military Academy in Claremore,
OK, Jim attended Oklahoma A
& M before serving in the Army
Air Corps during World War II.
After marrying Jeanne Lavonne Smith
in 1947, in Stillwater, OK, the couple later
made their home and raised four sons in
Sand Springs, OK. Throughout the years
Jim owned and operated many businesses
from real estate development, an insurance
agency and a mortgage company to several
lumber yards. Jim also served on the Board
at Fourth National Bank and Sooner Federal
Savings and Loan and was always a huge supporter of OSU. Past memberships include:
First Presbyterian Church of (downtown)
Tulsa, Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa
and the Desert Mountain Country Club in
Scottsdale, AZ. Jim and Jeanne retired to
Scottsdale, AZ in 1993, where they enjoyed
entertaining visiting family. Playing golf,
flying model airplanes, skeet shooting and
flying were some of Jim’s favorite interests.
Preceding him in death is wife Jeanne
Wells in 2003; one son, Richard Wells; a
sister, Nelda Louise Lamb; granddaughn

Wells is slated for 3:00 O’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, February 13, 2014,
at First Presbyterian Church of downtown Tulsa in the Kerr Chapel. A private
family interment is planned at Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs, OK.
