Rhody Family Funeral Home takes pride in our professionalism and the compassionate care that we
provide to the families we serve.
The enclosed is a detailed outline of the services and products available at our funeral home, along
with the current associated costs. We would be pleased to discuss the contents of this price list with
you and/or your family, at your convenience, without obligation.
Funeral planning is a part of sensible estate planning. Discussing a prearranged funeral with a funeral
director, gives you an opportunity to ask questions. It allows you to fully understand the services
performed and the costs associated. You will have time to make informed decisions regarding funeral
arrangements, caskets, vaults, cremation urns, as well as your final resting place. We trust that this
information will help serve as a guide for your family and friends.

PROFESSIONAL & STAFF SERVICES
Basic Professional Fee (requires Basic Facility Charge)
$1100
Professional consultation with licensed personnel, which may include but is not
limited to, expert advice on options to meet your needs, including essential services
relating to disposition, drafting notices, planning scheduling of services, advising
regarding possible government benefits. A basic professional fee is payable
whenever we provide services to you.
Co-ordinating Rites & Ceremonies
$400
Co-ordination of all rites and ceremonies, before, during and after they have been
provided, including services and supplies provided by us, as well as those provided
by third party suppliers, such as flowers and death notices.
Documentation – Permits, Forms, etc.
$400
Completion and filing of all documents necessary to carry out the services and
supplies requested, including, but not limited to, death registration, burial permit,
coroner’s certificate for cremation, documentation necessary to ship the body out of
the country. As part of this service, we will provide you with ten Funeral Director’s
Statement of Death; such certificates are usually accepted for most estate settlement
purposes, but sometimes a provincial Death Certificate will be necessary and is
available from the Office of the Registrar General.
Transport Remains
$250
Transportation of the remains from one place to another, for example the hospital to
our premises, or from our premises to the cemetery or crematorium using a service
vehicle, for distances not exceeding 50 km. An additional fee of $2.00/km may be
charged for each kilometre, one way, outside of this area. A charge applies for each
transportation request.
Basic Preparation of Remains (requires Facilities for Preparation, Embalming &
Shelter)

The preparation of the body for placement into the casket/container, including
bathing, dressing and the setting of facial features for identification or viewing without
embalming.

Embalming of Remains (requires Basic Preparation of Remains)
$250
Embalming is the process of replacing blood and bodily fluids with chemical
preservatives. It is a process of sanitation, restoration and temporary preservation.
Embalming is not legally required, but may be recommended to preserve the body
between the time of death and the visitation or disposition of the deceased. Our
professional funeral directors will make a recommendation based on the condition of
the body and expected service needs.
Staff Services for Visitation
$150
Staff to coordinate and oversee the visitation (informal gathering) at our premises for
a period of one hour. Each additional hour will be charged at a rate of $150 per hour.
If the visitation takes place at an offsite location, an additional staff services charge
will apply. This additional fee will be $100 per hour of visiting and will include all
additional personnel and equipment required to provide the visitation at an
alternative location.
Staff Services for Ceremony
$300
Staff to coordinate and oversee the ceremony or memorial service at our premises or
at another location. If the ceremony was to take place off our premises and additional
charge of $200 would apply. This fee is charged per ceremony.
FACILITY CHARGES
Basic Facilities
$500
Use of our general and common areas, public washrooms, heating, lighting and
maintenance. This charge applies whenever we provide services to you.
Facilities for Preparation, Embalming & Shelter
$100
Facilities used to prepare, embalm and/or shelter the body; this charge applies
whenever the body is in our facility for any purpose.
Facilities for Visitation (requires Staff Services for Visitation)
$150
Designated facilities used for visitation or gathering for one hour, which can be used
during the morning, afternoon or evening. Each additional hour will be charged at a
rate of $150 per hour. A minimum charge of $150 will apply.
Facilities for Ceremony (requires Staff Services for Ceremony)

Designated facilities at our Funeral Home used for the ceremony or memorial
service.

VEHICLES
Service Vehicle
$300
This vehicle, along with a staff member, is used for the purpose of transferring the
deceased remains to the cemetery or crematorium, when a funeral coach is not
used.
Business/Lead Vehicle
$200
The use of vehicles necessary to implement the funeral arrangements. This vehicle
may include any or all of the following uses: floral delivery to the cemetery or other
locations, picking up and filing documentation, death registration, securing cremation
certificates, providing clergy transportation as required. The charge for this vehicle is
a flat fee for all funeral services performed by us.
Funeral Coach
$300
The use of this specialized vehicle includes the transportation of the deceased from
our facility to the place of the ceremony as well as to the place of final disposition.
Additional Mileage
An additional fee of $2.00/km may be charged for each kilometre, one way,
beyond 50 km from our facility.

Staff & Vehicle Surcharge for Time Delay

In the event of a delay between the ceremony and the interment on the same day or
another day. (e.g. ceremony followed by reception then interment)
Facilities & Staff Services for Post Service Reception
$200
This includes the use of the facility and our staff to host a post service reception (2 hrs.).
Subject to room availability – 75 person maximum. No food or beverages included in this
fee.
Staff & Vehicle for Spring Interment
$200
Many of our area cemeteries choose not to provide interments during the winter months
(e.g. December – April). Dates may vary depending on the cemetery. This fee covers the
cost of transporting the remains from the mausoleum to cemetery and co-ordinating
activities including, but not limited to, arranging date and time with family, cemetery and
clergy if required. It also includes the ordering of grave opening and closing, co-ordinating
delivery and set-up of burial vault.
Priority Cremation (Completed within 72 hours of Funeral Arrangements)
$200
To arrange with the crematorium a predetermined cremation time and therefore have the
cremated remains present within 72 hours of the funeral arrangements.

Additional Staff Services for Visitation
$150
Staff to coordinate and oversee the visitation (informal gathering) for a period which
exceeds the basic period selected. This additional fee will be $150 per hour of visitation.
Equipment for Visitation at a Remote Location
$100
Deliver, set up and use of equipment necessary for visitation or ceremony at a location
other than the funeral establishment. This fee is charged per hour of visitation.
Professional Restorative Procedures
$50
In some circumstances, additional restorative efforts beyond those captured in the
standard embalming procedure are necessary to enhance the appearance of the
deceased. In such cases, the funeral director will discuss the available options and their
cost. Professional restorative procedures will be charged per hour.
Hairdressing
$50
This fee includes the washing, drying and styling of the deceased’s hair for family
viewing. This fee is waived if the deceased is embalmed.
Rental Urn
$50
An urn can be rented for the purposes of being present for services. Cremated remains
cannot be placed inside the selected urn, nor can the urn be personalized in any way.
Storage of Cremated Remains
$1/per
day
A fee of $1 per day will be charged to the purchaser when the cremated remains remain
unclaimed at the funeral home after one year from the date of death.
Removal of Pacemaker or Implant
N/C
The removal of a pacemaker or implant will be carried out by a licensed funeral director.
Payment, Financing and Funding
We are proud to offer various payment, funding and financing options to our clients.
Payment
Unless otherwise specified, payment is due within 30 days of signing the contract. Payment may be
made by cash or cheque. Payment plans are also available to meet most budgets. Financing charges
may apply to payment plans. Beyond the allotted time, interest will be charged at a rate of 1.5% per
month, which is equivalent to 18% per annum (APR).
If you are prepaying for services or supplies, pre-authorized chequing is also available.

Financing
Our payment plans give you the option of making payments over time. We offer a competitive financing
program, administration fees and interest rates. Please ask a funeral director for current products and
fees.
Funding
For your convenience, we offer two funding options when prepaying services or supplies. When
prepaying, you pay for the services and supplies today and the money will be used to pay for the
services and supplies when they are delivered at the time of death.
Trust: You may pay the money directly to us and we will place it in trust, where it will accrue interest until
the contract is fulfilled (when the services and supplies are delivered) or the contract is cancelled.
Insurance: You may purchase an insurance contract where the proceeds of the insurance contract will
be used to pay for the services or supplies at the time they are delivered or the contract is cancelled.
Please ask a funeral director for current products, interest rates and fees.
Cash Disbursements
Cash disbursements are various items available to the family that can be ordered through the funeral
home. They are either billed through the funeral home or directly to the family. The prices quoted are
estimates only and are set by the suppliers.
Radio:
CKNX - $52 per 30 second announcement / per day
CFOS - $65 aired once / $76 aired twice
Daily Newspapers:
i.e. Owen Sound Sun Times, K.W. Record, Toronto Star
Charged per line – notices are usually minimum $150/per day
Weekly Newspapers:
The Post - $50 per notice, with picture $60 per notice.
Flowers:
Price is determined by the variety and quantity of flowers, season, and
supplier.
Clergy Honorarium:
Basic $200; but determined by the individual.
Organist:
Basic $100; but determined by the individual.
Death Registration:
$10 for registering a death outside of the Municipality.
Grave Opening:
Determined by individual cemetery.
Cremation Fee:
$550 (Woodlawn Memorial Park – Guelph)

Coroner:
$75 to sign cremation application.
Luncheon:
Some groups charge per person and some accept donations. Average $5 $7 per person.
Winter Storage:
$50 charged by the Municipality.
