the son of W.C.
“Bud” and Mildred McConnell Adair. On Feb. 11,
1968, he married Joyce Ann Dixon
in Biggsville, Ill.
Mr. Adair farmed the fourgeneration family farm, retiring
in 2005. He lived his entire life in
Henderson County, Ill., graduated
from Union High School in 1961.
He served in the Iowa Reserves.
He was a member of Rozetta, Ill.,
Baptist Church. He also was a
member of Henderson County Fair
Board and was involved in the BiCounty Cattleman’s Association.
He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; one
daughter, Johanna Defenbaugh of
Kirkwood; two grandchildren; his
father of Kirkwood; two sisters,
Mary Walters of Monmouth, Ill.,
and Becky Dowell of Stronghurst,
Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
mother and one brother.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Spicer taught from 1970 to
1987, at Orchard Hill Farm School.
She grew up in Warren County,
Ill., where she attended rural
schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1948. She
attended Whitworth College in
Brookhaven, Miss., and earned a
teaching certificate from Shurttleff College in Alton, Ill.
She was a member of Faith
United Presbyterian Church in
Monmouth, and PEO Chapter E
and OGM. She and her husband
were active in WBCCI Wally Byum
Caravan Club International.
She was an Cubs fan. She also
enjoyed bridge and was a member
of many bridge clubs.
Survivors include two sons,
Rodney Spicer of Kansas City,
Mo., and Ray Spicer of Monmouth;
one daughter, Julia Spicer of Minneapolis; four grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Josephine Menely of Fullerton, Calif., and Margery Nash of
Santa Ana, Calif.; and one brother,
Myron McCoy of Knoxville, Ill.
