On the day of the party, please provide the museum with a list of the names of
children and adults expected to attend.
Please read the following rental terms before signing.
FEES:
• Daily During Open Hours Party: 15 children and 15 adults (no exceptions please) is
$80 (additional children are $7.00 w/a free adult, additional adults are $4.00) Please include
the birthday child and Museum members in the guest list. Maximum number of children
attending during business hours is 20.
• Exclusive After Hours Party: 20 children maximum is $150 (All adult guests are
included in the price.)
Party room seating capacity =20 children
A $20.00 non-refundable deposit is due when booking the party to secure
your reservation of the party room. Please be advised that without your deposit, the room
cannot be guaranteed. This signed contract must also be returned within 7 days of making
your party reservation and paying your deposit.
All parties must be paid in full before leaving the museum after the party.
CHAPERONES:
We require a minimum of 5 adult chaperones for a party. These adults must stay in
the museum as active supervisors throughout the party. It is important that the parents in
your group are aware of the museum rules and prepared to direct the group’s play-time and
clean-up so that everybody leaves as happy and healthy as they arrived.
Thank you, your help will ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for your guests and the
other visitors to our Museum.
SET-UP:
You will have access to the birthday party room 15 minutes prior to guest arrival. You are
welcome to provide party supplies, including table cloths, decorations, food, and drinks. A
refrigerator and freezer are available next to the birthday party room.
ARRIVAL:
Please check in with the front desk upon arrival and leave your sign-in sheet with a staff
member there.
Your guests will be asked to check in at the front desk as they arrive. The sign-in sheet will be
used when you check out to determine the total party cost. Additional guests will be added to
your party costs, $7.00 per additional child & $4.00 per additional adult.
The birthday child and family must be included on the guest list and are included in the total
count.
DURING YOUR PARTY:
The party room is yours for the reserved 1 ½ hour period. All other exhibits are also
available to enjoy during that time. However, only the party room is closed to museum
visitors unless you have scheduled a party after-hours. Pinatas are not allowed.
It is very important to keep all food (including candy) and drinks in the party room.
Please be sure children are supervised by an adult and following the museum rules.
CLEAN-UP:
It is the responsibility of the party hosts to clean after the party. You are allowed 15 minutes
after the scheduled party time to make sure things are tidy and they look the same as when you
arrived. The trash bin, broom, and disinfectant cleaner can be found in the party room and
under the sink in the kitchen. Please remove leftover food and decorations. At the end of the
party a staff member will check with you to make sure that the room is left in good condition.
An additional fee of $20.00 will be charged if the party room is not cleaned.
We appreciate your assistance in leaving the party room as you found it.
CANCELLATION:
If you need to change your party date, you must do so within 7 days of the original party
date reserved. Otherwise, refunds for cancellations are not offered. However, in the
event of illness or inclement weather, we can reschedule the party for a later date.
MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT:
CDM offers a 10% discount off any one of our annual memberships to all families who
host or attend a party at the museum, if the membership is purchased at the time of the
party. Please, let your guests know about this offer!
STAFF:
A staff member or volunteer will escort you to the party room upon arrival, but will not stay
with you during your party. If you require assistance during the party please go to the front
desk and a staff member or volunteer will assist you.
CONFIRMATION:
If all of the above information is acceptable, please sign and return this contract. This contract
must be returned within 7 days of booking your party. The deposit you have paid will be
deducted from the total cost of your party.
