ABOUT ME
I am 32 years old and I started working in a small rental company just to earn
some money while studying Graphical technology at the University of Natural
Sciences in Ljubljana. As a committed guitarist in a band I had never expected
the series of events that made me stay in this business and love doing it.
While everyone else wanted to become sound engineers, light control was my
field of interest. During my studies I have found many parallels between lighting
and graphical technology, which influenced my work in the future. I started as a
freelance lighting designer for small bands and rental companies to be able to
gain experience in setting up the lights, lighting design, programming various
consoles, and handling numerous problems in connection to lighting on every
day basis.
Today, I am still a freelancer with 12 years of experience in lighting design and
programming for TV production, concerts, corporate events and theatre, and I
am hungry for more.
HOBBIES
I am a licensed mountain guide, so a lot of my free time is dedicated to nature and
friends. Exploring different cultures and lifestyles is my big interest and whenever
there is a chance to take some time off, I use it for travelling to different locations
around the globe. I think that photographs can sometimes tell us more than
moving pictures and as an amateur photographer, I try to catch all the important
moments into snapshots of life.
MY PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
I am an outgoing and communicative person who is always open to the opinions
and suggestions of the crew members in order to find better solutions and
ensure faster structuring of lighting systems. I always respect other technicians
and their work, and try to establish good relationships in every crew. I am very
reliable in logistics and have good crew leading abilities which I acquired from
experience in being head of a rock band for 11 years. When dealing with problems
I am always open to hear other opinions and I am able to make fast decisions on
the spot. I always do everything in my power to be on time.
I have no problem with travelling and changing locations every day and I believe
to be a great person to spend the time with.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Lighting design:
I have a lot of experience in setting up medium to large lighting systems and
designing shows for TV productions, concerts, corporate events and theatre.
Consoles:
I am quite experienced in working with various lighting consoles but I prefer
Chamsys and Avolites. However, I am also open to learn to operate any other
consoles (eg. Hog, Grand MA) if this is required for the future projects.
Design programs:
Most of my designs are made in WYSIWYG, the lighting design software which I
prefer and use mainly.
AMBITIONS
I am a drop in the ocean in comparison to someone who is in lighting business
for a longer period of time and working with large rental companies and artists.
That is why I always look for more complex projects, putting my mind to a test in
a search for new ideas and solutions every time.
I know this process is slow, which is why I am patient and always ready to listen
and learn from more experienced people. Lighting design is my passion, and just
like smaller projects were a challenge for me in the past, I wish to be challenged
working on some amazing design projects in the future.
