This summer the theme for our reading program is “Dig into Reading”. Children will have an opportunity to enroll in this program and attend many other programs and activities. Children will be encouraged to explore new ideas and share wonderful stories by reading and listening, talking and writing, watching and doing. Storytellers, puppeteers, musicians and magicians will be here sharing their talents and enthusiasm. DON’T LET YOUR CHILD MISS OUT!! Last year our summer reading club was enjoyed by more than 900 children ages 2 and up. As you know, reading during the summer helps children retain their reading abilities. One of the goals of our program is to encourage children to read for pleasure in the summer so they will maintain their reading ability. Children need practice to become excellent readers and they need opportunities to experience the joys of reading. Summer reading programs at public libraries offer opportunities and encouragement for children to do both. A complete schedule of events will be available Monday, June 3rd. We encourage your child’s participation. BLOOD DRIVE Monday, June 17th 4:00-8:30pm The need for blood affects us all. Nine out of ten of us will need blood some time in our lives. Anyone in good health between the ages of 17 and 75 may donate blood. The procedure generally takes 7-10 minutes. After your donation, you will rest and have refreshments.
