 Follow up guide -­‐ Team Evolve 1) Ask Questions and Listen. People want to know you are there to support them and truly care about their success. If you don’t know an answer say “That is a great question, I am not sure about that, but I work with an Advocare coach that is training me and has been doing this a lot longer than I have. What time frame today will work for you to do a short call so that we can find out that answer.” 2) Your fortune is in the follow up! The better we take care of our customers, the better results they will get! When they get great results they will use Advocare as part of their daily lives for years to come, they will introduce you to many others and may even start to build a successful Advocare Business! 3) When your new customer gets started always add them to our Team Evolve customer email list and also to the FB support page by clicking the “get connected” tab at the top right of www.AdvocareByDesign.com When added to the customer email list, a customer will automatically receive an email with the password on printing out a Cleanse and/or 24 day challenge packet. They will also receive an auto responder email 20 days later that directs them to options after the 24 day challenge. After that they will receive an email every 4 to 8 weeks to keep them in the loop with what is going on as far as product tips and results within our team. Make sure you add ALL customers. I have watched hundreds of customers come and go; many times it is an email they respond to when they come back! When added to the customer FB support page your customer will have access to thousands of other customers across the nation that are on the same journey to better health and wellness. Some use this support system more than others, however it is an excellent place for them to access recipes (located by clicking “files” at the top of the page) or to ask questions, post results or be encouraged by others results. This is NOT a place to post negative things or things that will discourage others. We have several moderators and if we see an inappropriate or discouraging post we will remove it and send a private FB response to the member helping them with whatever needs assistance. 4) Your goal with each customer is 3 fold: First, to be a coach in them getting excellent results. Second, making sure that each customer understands their options on how to get to 40% discount for life and helping them achieve this through purchases and/or referrals. Third, inviting your customer to learn more about Advocare via the success system. Whether they would like to earn income paying forward good health and wellness with others is a choice they get to make, not you. Never assume someone doesn’t want to share Advocare or earn income. Our job is to paint a picture of what is possible and let others choose. 1 Days to follow up are 1, 4, 10, 17, 24 DAY 1: Hi, ________________ I am calling to check in on you. Did you get started today? NO: Encourage them to get started soon. No day is going to be perfect. It fits right into a busy life. YES: Great! Take me through what you did this morning so I can make sure you are on track. LET THEM TELL YOU. THEN GIVE THEM A FEW TIPS AS YOU DEEM NECESSARY. IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS… 1) Fiber drink within 30 minutes of rising (must drink it right away or it will thicken…use a fork, not a blender) 2) Two Omega Plex and a Meal Replacement shake within 1 hour of rising (no fork mixing!! Either a shaker cup or blend with ice & water for desired consistency…it can be very thick or very thin depending on how it is made…no milk, fruit juice or fruit…it is the correct ratio already. 3)Fruits and veggies the rest of the day…no limit…as long as they eat the portion it says to consume every 3 hours, they are free to eat more on top of the portion size. 4)Spark midday for an energy boost and Rehydrate in the evening or really anytime of day preferred 5)One gallon of water with fresh lemon squeezed in it and as much decaf tea as they would like. Some things that you can give tips and reminders about are: If you want to add extra veggies from day 2 forward you may as long as they are spinach, lettuce, or cucumber. Today you can eat additional veggies as you desire at anytime. You can also eat extra fruit today, however stop eating extra fruit after 4pm. Do not eat less than suggested, even if you are full. No workout today – you may workout as much as you would like after day 1. Follow the plan and make sure you prepared ahead and weigh your ounces, not just eyeballing your portions! Spark is for mental focus and energy and is replacing coffee, soda or energy drinks…you are not required to take it at the time listed. It is very important to get a starting weight today, a picture front, side and back in shorts (and a sports bra for women), and measurements. You will be losing body fat and protecting lean muscle so the inches will be the most dramatic as the scale drops. You don’t want to not know your true progress. Do not weigh each day! Your weight can fluctuate due to water, sodium and foods Weigh days are in the am on days 5, 11, 14 and 25. This is a Detox phase and you may feel different or experience feelings that your body needs to go through as it eliminates toxins from your body. Remember that we are pulling waste from your cells and for that waste to get out, you must be drinking your water to effectively flush the waste out of your system. Some things that you can give tips and reminders about are: If you want to have more than one Spark or want to have your spark at a different time of day that is fine. If you workout first thing in the morning (within 30 minutes of rising) you can have a Spark with 3 catalyst or 2 Thermo plus and a rehydrate and then start your normal regimen immediately after your workout. Anything that is a weakness for you get out of your home now!! If you don’t prepare, you are preparing to fail. Preparing will help you to save money, be consistent and create new habits! Simply listen and be excited for their good results or encouraging if they feel frustration. Some things that you can give tips and reminders about are: The green cleanse box is finished and you will start the MNS3 tomorrow. Follow the daily schedule in your packet for a burn day and you will easily know exactly when to take things. You don’t have the meal replacement for breakfast on burn days, only on refuel days. If you got the optional Thermo Plus and/or Muscle Gain you will also start using these now. No more fruits except for every forth day on your refuel day. Make sure you are starting your day when you wake up and that you eat your breakfast within an hour of waking up. If you forget the before lunch packet you can take it before meal 4 or 5 but it will be most effective before meal 3 If you forget catalyst you can take it anytime you have an empty stomach or immediately prior to any physical activity. If you are hungry in between meals you can take an extra 3 catalyst, drink an extra spark, munch on green veggies, drink tea (green or oolong is best for weight loss), down a full glass of water or chew sugar free gum. How much water are you drinking? Should be 1 gallon. Ask how they know they are “really” getting in a gallon. Are they measuring? If they are saying well I am drinking a ton, I think I am…that is not good enough. Water is needed to flush the elevated level of toxins from the blood. How much fruits and veggies are you eating? Also lessoning chicken helps. If they are constipated they should increase highest fiber veggies and fruits. They also can cook veggies for ease of breakdown in the digestive system. Chicken is more dense and takes longer to breakdown so eliminating it and sticking to fish, eggs and Advocare proteins is best until they are regular. Have you missed any supplements like your meal replacement shake or cleanse tablets at night? Don’t miss! If you miss, take it when you remember… Were you regular before you started the cleanse? If they were constipated prior to starting and the cleanse adds more waste in addition then constipation can initially get worse before it improves. Recommend additional Probiotic Ultra OR if you can’t get them some that day then have them start the probiotic in the cleanse now instead of day 4. Are you eating any additional things like bread, sugar, pasta, crackers, sauces, saturated fat, processed food, eating out? It is important for customers to know that: The body is always creating waste and processing that waste through the small and large intestine. When you cleanse you are pushing “extra waste” though the intestines and waste is also being removed from the walls of the intestines. It is your job to get it out and if you do not drink enough water or eat clean cleansing foods then the process will be slowed and you will get bloated. Bloating does not mean the cleanse is not working…it means you are not working it correctly or had a previous issue that the body must work through. How are you feeling? How they feel is by far the most important. You have to remember that each individual starts at a different level of health and physical activity. Sometimes the body has some healing to do on the inside prior to letting go of fat stores and sometimes it does not. Are there any medications or health conditions that you did not mention when you started? Some medications and health conditions can affect weight loss. Bottom line is that good nutrition does amazing things and allows the body to most effectively heal itself. This is not a diet, it is a nutrition program. On a scale of 1-­‐10 considering the timing of all meals and supplements, your water intake, activity level, eating the portions it says and not eating too little or too much…how closely would you say you are following? What would you say is your biggest weakness? I have been coaching Advocare and this program for 7 years now and 100% of the time, lack of results is one of two things 1) user error 2) previous health conditions or medications that affect weight loss. Do not accuse someone of not following, however be confident that the program works and help them pinpoint where they need to be more diligent on following. I sometimes say to a person that I feel is not following at a 9 or a 10 -­‐ “because this is not a fad diet and it is not meant for yo yo weight loss, following at a 7 or 8 out of 10 is a really healthy maintenance plan. You will feel fantastic but you need to follow a 9 or a 10 to consistently loss weight or change your body composition.” Tell me the times that you are eating? Blood sugar level plays a vital role in your weight loss. If you are going longer than 3 hours without eating or eating again in less 2 hours at ANY point during the day you will be affecting your progress. Are you weighing your portions and eating all it says to eat? Do you feel full or hungry at each meal time? Prior to Advocare were you an under eater or an over eater? Sometimes it is necessary to adjust portion sizes but make sure if you do it is for the right reasons. Many people eat too much or not enough and we are teaching you the right amount to eat for your weight to lose weight and strengthen metabolism. Even if you are not hungry or you feel full, you need to eat it all. In a couple weeks you will start to feel hungry on the same amount! If you are feeling “really” hungry, I guarantee you are not eating enough. If someone is certain they are eating everything and they feel overly stuffed and they are either over 50 or very low activity then lowering a half portion to a portion is appropriate as the metabolism builds up. Are you taking all of your supplements? Your Advocare regimen is filling in the gaps so you receive optimal nutrition. Your body is able to “absorb” nutrition at higher level because of active ingredients in the right amounts! Everything in your body happens faster and more efficiently. There are also plant extracts and botanicals in the products that you “cannot” get from food. These botanicals help you to retrain hormones and enzymes in your body to burn fat instead of store it AND help you to control your cravings and food choices. Having control is very important and if you are malnourished or starving or have cravings you are not in control. Take your products consistently each and every day! Are you eating deli meat, turkey bacon, canned foods, dried fruit, pickled veggies or nuts roasted in oil or peanut butter with added oil or sugar? Eating processed foods can many times be a source of added sodium and water retention or added calories, saturated fats or sugars that someone may not realize they are consuming. Are you eating extra? Don’t eat less than 2 hours after your meal. If you are hungry make sure you ate enough at the last meal. You can also: Eat more green leafy vegetables Drink a spark…it has a mild appetite suppressant Drink a large glass of water. Are you exercising? A pound of fat consists of 3500 calories. If you burn an extra 500 calories a day that is an extra pound per week. Recommend the Advocare CANU24 exercise DVD because it is only 24 minutes, no equipment needed and in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels for a few cents per day! Our nutrition (food, supplements and water) is about 80% of our results. Adding more physical activity WILL increase results up to 20%!! Are you eating a lot of sodium? A little sodium is not bad, but excessive sodium will make you retain water and sodium can be hidden in many foods. Non fresh, processed food must have added sodium to preserve it. Chicken breast for example: Pre cooked is very high in sodium. I want you to look at the nutritional information on the back of different fresh chicken breast. Foster farms has 75mg of sodium per 4 oz chicken breast and Safeway brand has 375mg of sodium…BIG DIFFERENCE! Are you drinking all your water? Being hydrated can increase metabolism up to 33% and will help with feelings of hunger. (women) Are you at that time of month? For women, during your menstrual cycle you will be retaining water and will not see the weight loss on the scale as much. However, if you are following the plan, don’t worry, fat is still being burned. Stay on track! On a side note – A menstrual cycle may be heavier or come early when cleansing. Are you stressed at work or home? Stress can affect your body’s ability to let go of stored fat. A suggestion would be to add in Oasis stress adaptogen formula in your next order. I AM NAUSEOUS OR HAVE A HEADACHE…WHY? POSSIBLE REASONS… -­‐

Toxin release You are pushing toxins into your bloodstream and they have to get out. If you have a headache you need to stay on the plan and drink more water with rehydrate to flush the toxins out. It is not the cleanse giving you a headache…it is the cleanse working to push toxins out of your organs and rid them from your body. Most people do not experience a headache, but some do. Some even experience a rash or itchy skin because toxins may come out through your skin. I recommend exercising and or going into a sauna or steam room to “sweat it out!” A massage will also help push toxins out. Mineral imbalance The cleanse is flushing out bad flora and toxins, however in the process some of your minerals are flushed out as well. Make sure you are drinking the rehydrate to replenish your electrolytes (minerals) and “balance” your body. Carbohydrate, fat or caffeine withdrawal If prior to starting you had been eating a lot of high glycemic carbohydrates and/or saturated fats and you stop cold turkey your body has a withdrawal period that may cause an uncomfortable feeling. This is the same with caffeine. It is perfectly normal and will go away. 7 QUESTIONS YOU MAY BE ASKED AND ANSWERS YOU CAN GIVE -­‐

Caffeine, niacin or b vitamin sensitivity. Every body is different. Just like some are allergic to oranges or nuts, a percentage of us are sensitive to caffeine, niacin or b vitamins. If you feel too much energy from the spark, try ½ spark to get the nutrition in with less caffeine. The MNS max 3 has ½ the caffeine of the MAXE and the Thermo Plus has ½ of the caffeine of the Max3. Niacin makes your body feel warm; some people do not like this and for some it may cause red blotchy skin or hivesL If someone gets red blotchy skin or hives from taking a slam then they should not take it! Some people are sensitive to b12 and it makes them tired, where most people b12 and b6 give them great energy. If someone does not feel spark or slam then it is possible that they have an issue with their adrenal glands and should consider having a blood draw with a naturopath to see. High level of nutrient absorption – body is adjusting. WAITING TOO LONG TO EAT Everybody is different; fast vs. slow absorption. The body may be adjusting to an increased level of active ingredients entering the bloodstream at once. Some people take a couple of days to adjust to this once starting the MNS3. These are designed to be taken with food so make sure you are eating no more than 30 minutes after you take them. If you want less absorption, you can choose to eat sooner as your body is adjusting. Some need to take them and eat right away. The MNS3 is made for ages 12 and older and should be where everyone starts. After 30 days if you feel the need for even more energy you can switch to the MAXE or if you want more appetite control then switch to the MAXC I AM FULL…DO I HAVE TO EAT ALL THIS FOOD? YES! If you are full then your metabolism is very slow and we are strengthening it through good nutrition in the right ratios at the right times. For 90% of people the portions listed are what they need. UNLESS someone started as a severe under eater, they are over 50 or have low to no activity during the day then IF they are following the plan 100% and have not lost any weight after 7 days you may suggest to lower a half to a full portion. Please be careful not to offer this until you have asked all the right questions to determine that yes they are following and it seems necessary. Lowering when it is not appropriate turns into a starvation diet which we do not want! I AM TIRED POSSIBLE REASONS… -­‐

Carbohydrate withdrawal Ask if they ate lots of breads, crackers, chips, pasta, pastries and/or sugary foods and drinks prior to starting. If yes then the body goes though a carbohydrate withdrawal and it will go away. If it doesn’t go away, add a carb serving to meal 2 in addition to meal 3 on the cleanse and have them do the meal replacement shake every morning on the burn phase instead of just on refuel days. Low Blood Sugar Ask them to tell you the times they are eating and if they have any large gaps of more than 3 hours then remind them “A large part of your weight loss success is making sure your blood sugar does not have large spikes and drops. Large spikes and drops will also make you tired so make sure no matter what you are prepared to eat every 2 to 3 hours and that you stay away from high sugar foods and drinks” 8 -­‐

Exercising intensely more than 1 hour per day When someone expends more energy the body is forced to burn more! If the goal is weight loss then it is normal to feel wiped out after or during intense physical activity when you are “forcing” the body to burn body fat. They could carb up more however then they are feeling energized but lessoning the pull of fat from fat stores. Taking one or more of the following will help a lot with energy and endurance in a workout when also trying to “cut” body fat. Catalyst, Spark, Slam, Muscle Fuel, Argenine Extreme , Rehydrate, o2gold and Thermo Plus. Rule of thumb is 1 to 3 of these at a time. If someone’s goal is performance and NOT weight loss they would not be on the 24 day challenge burn phase meal plan. They should be on the total transformation or Evolve sculpt and tone meal plans. I AM HUNGRY POSSIBLE REASONS… Are you weighing your ounces of protein and other foods? Eyeballing is not effective. Are you skipping any meals? Are you working out more than 1 hour per day? Are you getting in a fat portion at 2 meals per day? Are you getting in all your water? Are you taking your supplements on schedule? If yes to all: See if they have tried the tips from the day 10 follow up call. Add an ounce of protein as a last resort. Another great trick is if you are still hungry after eating…drink a full glass of water and start chewing gum. The hungry should subside in less than 5 minutes as the body produces the hormone Leptin to tell your brain you are full. They may also choose to add in additional Leptin prior to meals by purchasing the Leptilean. I HAVE ALLERGIES – Every BODY is different. Advocare is a condensed form of food and just as many people are allergic to nuts or oranges or seafood, there are also specific vitamins and sometimes plant extracts or plant botanicals that some have allergies or sensitivities to. If you know of any allergies or sensitivities you have we need to double check your products for them. I HAVE MEDICATIONS TO TAKE – If a medication states to take it on an empty stomach then take at a different time than your supplements so that they do not fight each other for absorption. Both should absorb efficiently when taken at least 2 hours separate timing. If you cannot have a specific vitamin, mineral or herb, or have been instructed to take more of a nutrient by your doctor, make sure you consult your doctor with the ingredients in your Advocare or check them yourself. We are not doctors and cannot make any medical claims. 9 DAY 17: TIME TO TALK ABOUT 40% It’s time to help your customer choose what they would like to do next. You are not here to TELL them, you are here to ask questions, determine goals and guide them… “Advocare is not a 24 days and done. THE 40% DISCOUNT OPTION IS THE CHEAPEST WAY TO GET YOUR PRODUCTS What If your favorite store to shop at told you that if you purchased $3000 in products at one time that they would only make you pay $2100 and that every time you walked in the store or ordered online forever that they would honor you a 40% off whatever you choose to order with no minimums or no order requirements. This makes sense. This is how Advocare’s 40% discount works. You never have an obligation to distribute. Once at 40% as long as you keep your membership active for $50 per year you will never lose your discount. If you choose this option DO NOT attempt this on your own. Let us help you choose the products you will need. If you want to start a business you will need 6 to 8 of the 24 day challenge programs plus products for you and if you want to order just for yourself and family I will show you the products you will mostly be using the next several months. 40% is a discount for customers and a commission for distributors. Advocare will pay distributors in 4 other ways in addition to the 40% when you reach Advisor. YOU CAN ALSO GET TO 40% BY SHARING WITH OTHERS OR BY SPREADING OUT BULK ORDERS OVER 4 to 6 WEEKS You also have the option to work your way to 40%. This will not maximize your savings or profit, however will get you to the same place in the end! YOU CAN SIMPLY ENJOY A DISCOUNT AS A VALUED CUSTOMER OR PURCHASING AT RETAIL If you choose to purchase retail then you have no account setup fee and pay the price that is listed online. You can get your products from me or we can set you up a free account to order online whenever you want. If you order less than $150 per year this is the right option. If you order more, the wholesale account for $79 makes sense. I will call you as we planned. As long as we get your order placed by your last refuel day then you will be sure to have your products in time and not run out! It takes an average of 21 days to create a habit and you are almost there! Did you review my email? Do you have some questions or have you decided what you want to do next? If you are not a silver level or above distributor, set up a 3 way as soon as possible to answer questions and get them started. It would even be a good idea to plan ahead of time ask you mentor if they are available to call them for a 3 way. From here it is important that you meet someone where they are at but that you also provide guidance and direction. Some will know exactly what they want, but most will take your advice on the direction they should go. Either have your mentor handle this part or have 2 choices in your head that you are going to recommend to this customer before you talk. When you have someone’s trust 99% of the time they will just do what you tell them is best, so don’t be unclear or wishy washy!! Don’t send them off to go complete the order – either do it for them or help them do it. DAY 24: “Congratulations on finishing successfully!!” Have them take final weight, picture and measurements the next morning and ask if they will mind posting them on the facebook results page! What happens tomorrow… you get a free meal!! Not a free day, a free mealJ Still eat sensible the rest of the day, spacing your meals out 2 to 3 hours apart and take your MNS, catalyst and thermo. Go over new program and/or products that will start on the following day. CUSTOMER REFERRALS Coach them on what to do if they have people ask about their results. You are most likely going to have people asking you what you are doing. The best thing to do is simply share your results and ask their p ermission to give your Advocare coach their phone number or email. DO NOT try to answer ANY questions about products, programs or cost. I will handle all of that and if they choose to get started it can help you raise your discount. ONGOING SUPPORT From this point forward I am here as much as you need you for support. I will not be calling as often, but you are welcome to call you as much as needed and it is never a bother, that is what I’m here for. 13 USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS – Because you will be asked many times how to login to someone’s account when they forget, it is a good idea to have a system so that you remember each individual login until they choose to change it. Advocare will not give you someone’s password without them present on the phone and it can delay an order when they and you can’t figure out how to login! Remember that usernames and passwords are case sensitive. If you lose a login you can call with the customer to Advocare at 1800-­‐542-­‐4800. Find any id# by going to www.advocare.com and clicking on “contact a distributor” then “yes I know one” RETAIL VS WHOLESALE ACCOUNTS – Every person that orders must have an account that links them to you. A retail account is a free account that you create from your microsite when you ARE NOT logged in. Your microsite is www.advocare.com/yourid# After shopping for products, when you click checkout the system will ask you to create a customer or distributor account. Retail customers have a username and login just like wholesale customers, however they pay retail and do not raise their discount with purchases. I recommend setting this up for your customers so that they don’t accidently get linked to another distributor! Placing an Advisor or Advisor Qualification order ($500 retail or more) – To place a large order or an Advisor order it is easiest for you to ask to login to their account, make a mock order and save it as a cart. This way you can have them login to their advocare site, click “shop now” and then click “order management” on the left side to see the order you created for them. They review the order and checkout. Easy, no confusion or delay. After this order when they have a customer you want to make them do it! Walk them through the process so they can learn and do it without you. If they are placing an order to start a business then also have them: 1) Print out the New Distributor Checklist at www.advocarebydesign.com under members and then new distributor tab. Tell them they choose their own pace. Some complete this list in a week, some take months. This checklist will get you to $1000 -­‐$1500 per month. 2) Brainstorm a list of potential customers and business partners and pick a deadline to have it done. You want income in their pocket within 72 hours max!!! 3) Mark their calendar for the next training AND success school. 4) Add them to the new distributor email list, facebook and text message alert group for Team Evolve at www.advocarebydesign.com under the get connected tab. 14
