If you have a family member or friend who served, we would love to have them join us. Please make your reservations online at RSVP. The breakfast and program will last from 9:00 until 10:45. Students have an opportunity to donate during lunch until Thursday, November 6. Students who donate a minimum of $2 can wear a hat to school on Friday, November 6. Help us reach our goal of $1000! PTA Reflections Program The theme for this year’s PTA Reflections competition is “Let Your Imagination Fly.” Students are invited to reflect on the theme and create a work of art in one of the following categories: Literature, Visual Art, Photography, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography, or Video Production. Specific guidelines for each category are available on the display in the Media Center or online at www.ohiopta.org/PROGRAMS.aspx. Entries are due to the school office no later than November 20, 2015. Information sheets are available in the Media Center. Rapid Run RamPage, a RRMS PTA publication November 2015 | Page 1 Oak Hills High School Open House Oak Hills High School will host an Open House for current eighth graders and any parochial student who is interested in attending Oak Hills High School next year. The Open House will be on Sunday, November 8, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be opportunities to learn more about curricular offerings and extracurricular activities. Students and parents who attend will also have the chance to walk thru the hallways, classrooms, art, music and athletic facilities of Oak Hills High School. Congratulations to our Honor students! A Small business owner (12 Employees), I currently sit on the Oak Hills Little Highlander Board, I sit on two fundraising committees for the Little Highlanders, I also sat on The Ohio homeland security board from 20042007 representing the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Q What is your vision for the Oak Hills School District in the coming years. A My goal for the upcoming years is to make sure that every voice including Family Status: Married to Scott Hunter, a pediatrician, with two daughters, Katie and Darcie, who are both school counselors. A I see a district that seeks to enrich the educational experience, including academic, athletic and performing and creative arts, for students with ALL different levels of ability, to meet their needs at whatever that level might be, and to assist each student to reach their fullest potential. A I am a graduate of Oak Hills High School. My wife and two of my kids are graduates of Oak Hills High School. I have two more kids still attending schools in the Oak Hills School District. I am a dedicated volunteer in the school district having served on four different PTAs for the past 16 years now, 8 years as a President of one of those PTAs. I have coached for Bridgetown Baseball for eight years and one year with Oak Hills Youth Athletics. I volunteer with the Oak Hills Band, the Rapid Run Bands, Orchestras, and Choirs, and the PTA Musicals. As a result, I have a lot of interaction with all our great kids and our great teachers and I see firsthand their challenges, successes, and struggles. I am ready to be a bigger part of the process to help our district be even more successful. Q What is your vision for the Oak Hills School District in the coming years. A I want all the children in our district to have access to the highest quality education we can provide while stretching our limited funding as far as we can. I want to continue to avoid additional levies and renewals but raise expectations. I want to reduce how much time we spend testing so the kids can spend more time learning. I do not want to just pass the benchmark by a narrow margin, I want each kid to do the best they can and have many more kids achieve at higher levels. This survey is one of the very few fundraisers we do in order to keep the kids in our community safe, year after year. The Fall OHHS After Prom Product Survey is Monday, Nov. 9 from 3-7 p.m. in the Media Center at the high school. You must arrive no later than 6:45 p.m. to be counted. Your survey will take approximately 15-30 minutes. After Prom earns money for each completed survey. Please register for a time slot and feel free to pass this along to any adult age 18 and up!
