Angel Slider Patient Positioner USAGE GUIDE
Step 1:
Step 2a:
Tuck in flaps, once the Angel Slider has
been positioned.
Place the Angel Slider on
bottom sheet with blue, low-friction
taffeta panel down.
Note: Ensure brakes
of bed are on.
Step 2b:

Place incontinence pad on top
of the Angel Slider (if needed).
Position patient centrally on white
Angel Slider surface. The central panel
should support patient from the neck to
just below the buttocks.
Note: Place pillow at head of bed to avoid
accidental head injury.
Step 4:

Un-tuck flaps.
Ensure there is a caregiver on
each side of bed.
Note: When possible, bed height
should be at caregivers’ upper
thigh level.

Bend patient’s knees to protect
heels from being dragged across
linens.
Hold the Angel Slider with two hands
- One at shoulder height and one at
hip height.
To move patient, gather the Angel Slider
as close as possible to patient’s body.
Reposition by laterally shifting body weight.

Rabbit Ears technique
Once patient has been repositioned,
smooth out the Angel Slider and tuck flaps
securely under mattress.
Note: If the head of the bed needs to be
elevated, raise the knee gatch to prevent
the patient from sliding down the mattress.
Position the patient’s hips in the bend of
the bed. If hips go above that zone, patient
will slide down by force of gravity.

HANDLING SOILED LINENS
Place blue barrier face down, with the soft
turquoise surface up
FOLD/ROLL soiled surface inwards, barrier facing
outwards for a better control of leaks and odors.
Place patient’s buttocks at approximate center of
pad, or as anatomically required.
PLACE soiled product in designated laundry bag
IF you are using underpads on wheelchairs or any
other seating surface, please do not fold pad under
your patient/resident
One underpad provides full-size impermeable
protection. We strongly advise against the use of
multiple pads, which often results in creating
pressure points and skin irritation
STANDARD UNDERPAD CHANGING PROCEDURES
Roll the patient/resident on
one side of the soiled pad.
Clean the peri-anal area. Roll
the soiled pad towards the
body. Prepare the clean
underpad by rolling it with
blue barrier side faceing
outwards
Turn the patient/resident
onto the clean pad. Finish
rolling the soiled pad and put
in the appropriate soiled linen
container. Unroll the clean pad
completely and place the
patient in the optimal position.
Place the clean rolled pad on
the bed and position the
buttocks at the center of the
pad. Unroll the clean pad
towards the body.
For small or frailpatients/
residents. Fold the edges of
the padtowards the center.
It will keep the top sheet from
