Experiment with Shisha
Murray Forrest
Shisha work is captivating for
everyone because of the little
mirrors… and in this workshop
we will create a unique picture
frame where we will experiment
with the process. Everyone
will complete something, but
depending on your ability to
control the little mirrors (as
they like to jump about) and
a needle and thread it will
either be done beautifully or
creatively! Beginners and
children (8+ and accompanied by an adult) welcome,
and a great chance to try something new. Instructions
will be provided, so that even if it doesn’t work on the
day, you can try again later.

Hand Sew a Hexagonal Xmas
Decoration
Paula Rafferty
Discover the joy of hand piecing
using one of the most ancient
techniques. Paper piecing is
simple, fast and portable. Fabric
is sewn around a paper pattern,
which allows the fabric to hold its
shape. Using the very versatile
hexagon shape we will construct
a beautiful Christmas decoration
which will enhance any tree. You
will leave the class with the basic skills required to tackle
much more complex and challenging projects. 1 hr PRIMA w/shop

Introduction to Trapunto
Quilting
Ruth Singer
Trapunto or Italian quilting is a
fast, fun technique for creating
raised texture on fabric. Unlike
traditional quilting, in trapunto
the stuffing is added between
two stitched layers of fabric just
in the areas required. Trapunto
can be worked by hand or
machine, but in this class we will use simple handstitching techniques to create a small sampler. This
workshop is suitable for all levels of stitchers and is an
introduction trapunto for those who have never done it
before.

Make a Beaded Bracelet: Knit
with Beads & Crochet Hook
Jane Burns
If you would like to learn how
to apply beads to your knitting
without painstakingly threading
hundreds of beads onto your
yarn first, this is the class for
you. You will knit a cute beaded bracelet, whilst learning
how to apply beads using a crochet hook as you knit.
We will look at the difference between pre-stringing
beads and using a crochet hook and discuss the
benefits. This class is aimed at those who can knit and
purl. You do need to know how to knit an I-cord (to
learn this you can come to Jane Burn’s Knit an I-Cord
class at 1pm on Thurs 9th).
