This year’s filing deadline both State
and Federal income taxes is Monday,
April 15, 2013. You have until then
to make your annual contribution to
either your Traditional or Roth IRA for the tax year 2012.
Always remember: Filing an IRS filing extension does not
extend your 2012 IRA contribution deadline!
The maximum amount you can contribute for the tax year
2012, up through April 15, 2012, is $5,000 (or your total
earned compensation, whichever is less). If you are 50 years
of age or older, you can contribute an additional $1,000 as
a catch-up contribution, for a total of $6,000.

Reminder to Our Members Affected by
Hurricane Sandy
We realize that many
of our members may be
experiencing hardships due
to the devastation caused
by Hurricane Sandy. If you
are experiencing financial
difficulties as a result of this
tragic event, we remind you
that SJFCU has staff available to assist you.
We have several options to help you through this difficult
time. First, SJFCU is offering loans up to $10,000 at
reduced interest rates to qualified members to assist with
the hardship caused by Hurricane Sandy. You may apply by
phone, in person in any of our branches or online, using the
Promo Code “HS.”
Secondly, another option you may wish to consider is a
deferred payment arrangement on an existing SJFCU loan.
Third, we also would like to remind our members with an
existing loan or Visa credit card that you may have loan
protection coverage to assist with your monthly payments
in the event of an unexpected life event. This protection
could cover your monthly payment, or cancel your loan
balance, in the event of a loss of life, loss of income due to
disability, or involuntary unemployment.

Online Bill Pay
SJFCU member Tamara D. Miller of Pleasantville was the
lucky winner of our most recent Billpayer promotion.
Every time Tamara paid a bill online during August and
September, her name was automatically entered in the drawing.
