PEARL HYDE SCHOOL Newsletter 4th April 2014 EASTER ACTIVITIES REMINDER Tuesday is the deadline for sending in your Easter garden competition entries. On Friday the children will have the opportunity to take part in an Easter Egg Hunt. The children can also dress up in an Easter theme outfit on Friday. We will be using this day to raise funds for 2 charities. Half of the funds raised will go to Louise Andrews who is running the London Marathon for Macmillan and the other half will go to MedEquip4 kids. Please send in any donation you would like to contribute to the work of these two important charities. Full details can be found on the school website (school events tab). KNITTING CLUB Easter Eggstravaganza One day sale to raise funds for a new garden development outside of the KS1 classrooms. Adorable handmade Easter treats Easter Raffle Come and play “Pot Luck” Monday 7th April at 3.15pm in the school library Dinner Money With effect from 1 April if you are paying for dinner money by cheque it should now be made payable to Pearl Hyde School not Coventry City Council. From 1st April the school will be banking the takings into our bank account and CCC will invoice the school for the cost of the meals supplied. If you don’t already please do consider paying online using the school’s online payment system. st KS2 CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY Parents of children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are warmly invited to attend this assembly which will be held at 2.40 pm in the school hall. PARENT CONSULTATION EVENINGS Our next parent consultation evenings will take place on the following dates and times: Monday 7th April – 3.30 pm – 5.30pm Wednesday 9th April – 5.00pm to 7.30 pm YEAR 3/4 PERFORMANCE TO PARENTS We have a few remaining seats for the two performances. If you have already booked your seats online and would like additional ones, log onto the parents evening software, cancel your current seats and rebook for a larger number. If you do not have internet access contact the school office who will be pleased to help you. There is no teacher training day until May. A full list of term dates is available on the school website. Please do take a moment to check term dates as there are a lot of holidays and teacher days coming up in the near future. Please be aware that not all schools have the same teacher training days. Local and European elections take place in May so we have to use one of our teacher training days to enable the school to close for elections to take place in this ward. Binley Woods Junior Football Club Football development training sessions start on Saturday 5th April for boys and girls from ages 4 to 12 at Binley Woods School. £3 per session. Contact Neil Harris on 76545209 for information. BEAVERS CUBS SCOUTS Is your child interested in joining Beavers, Cubs or Scouts? If so a local group can be found at Oldham Avenue. Full details can be found on the school website. Beavers is for children 5 ¾ to 8 years Cubs is for children 8 to 10 ½ years Scouts is for children aged 10 ½ to 14. CLUB NEWS Letters are in the process of being sent home for the new clubs starting after the Easter holidays. Payments made this term do not cover the clubs running after the holiday. Everyone will need to reapply and make a new payment. ALAN HIGGS FAMILY OPEN DAY – 5TH APRIL 12 NOON TO 2PM – Just turn up and play (10 sporting activities available to participate in) £1 PER FAMILY
