General Information
Where are Layers products made?
All Layers by Scentsy products are made in the United States, with the exception of the Dryer Disk. Dryer
Disks are made in Germany.
What makes Layers by Scentsy special?
The combination of Scentsy fragrance and product quality make Layers special. From the base material
that holds the oils to the fragrance oils used, from packaging to duration, quality is our primary goal.
Scentsy products have always been designed to deliver value in quality, price, product volume, and
duration.
Does Layers by Scentsy contain any allergens or toxins?
All Layers by Scentsy products have been analyzed and approved for use by a Toxicologist and have been
tested for allergies. Layers products are non-toxic and non-irritating. Layers products are highly fragrant,
so people with specific known fragrance sensitivities should test on a small patch of skin before using,
Are Layers by Scentsy products tested on animals?
Layers by Scentsy products are not tested on animals.
Are these products safe to use on children?
Layers by Scentsy products are safe to use on all members of the family, and may be used as directed on
children with adult supervision. All Layers products are for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if
product gets in your eyes, rinse with water. You should stop use and ask a doctor if rash or irritation
develops and persists. Please keep scented products out of the reach of small children and pets.
Can I use Layers products on my face?
Layers by Scentsy products — with the exception of Lip Balm — have not been tested for use on the
face. Skin on the face tends to be more sensitive than skin on the body, so a small patch of facial skin
should be tested prior to using products on your whole face. If your Layers product comes in contact
with your eyes, flush the product out of your eyes with water.
What are the ingredients in Layers by Scentsy products?
The ingredients are listed on the packaging of each personal care product. Ingredient lists are also
available in the Layers Ingredients List located on the Resources tab of the Consultant Workstation.
Are Layers products gluten-free?
Yes, Layers products are gluten-free.
Laundry Care Products
Is Laundry Liquid dye-free?
Yes. Laundry Liquid contains no dyes or coloring agents and will not stain clothing or linens.
Is Laundry Liquid safe for use in all water temperatures?
Yes. Laundry Liquid works well in all water temperatures.
Does Laundry Liquid fragrance your clothes?
Yes, with the exception of Fragrance Free Laundry Liquid. Fragranced Laundry Liquid leaves gentle
fragrance in your clothing which is noticeable, but not overwhelming. For a stronger fragrance, use
Laundry Liquid with Dryer Disks. For an even stronger fragrance, use Laundry liquid with Washer Whiffs.
For maximum fragrance, use our entire laundry care system together: Laundry Liquid, Washer Whiffs,
and Dryer Disks.
Does Laundry Liquid treat stains?
Laundry Liquid contains powerful stain-fighting enzymes effective on tough stains. Combine it safely
with bleach and/or stain pre-treatment products for your most challenging stains. Follow the care
instructions on your clothes and linens.
Does Laundry Liquid contain optical brighteners?
Yes, Laundry Liquid contains optical brighteners.
Is Laundry Liquid phosphate-free?
Laundry Liquid is phosphate-free.
Is Laundry Liquid safe for use on all fabrics?
Laundry Liquid is safe to use on any material that does not restrict the use of detergent as a cleaning
agent. Check the care instructions of your clothing and linens for specific treatment instructions.
How many loads of laundry can be done with a bottle of Laundry Liquid?
Laundry Liquid comes in a 20 oz. bottle which cleans 50 medium loads with its ultra-concentrated
formula. A tablespoon of detergent will clean an entire load of laundry, helping to eliminating waste.
How much Laundry Liquid do I use to get my clothes clean?
Laundry Liquid is ultra-concentrated, over eight times more concentrated then typical laundry
detergent. Use the pump bottle to dispense: two pumps for a small load, four pumps for a large load,
and six pumps for a large or very dirty load. The average load uses about a tablespoon of detergent, the
equivalent to about four pumps.
Are Washer Whiffs in liquid or crystal form?
Washer Whiffs are in crystal form, which can be poured from the dispenser and added directly to your
laundry in the washing drum. Washer Whiffs do not clean, so use in conjunction with an effective
detergent, such as Scentsy’s new ultra-concentrated Laundry Liquid in complementary fragrances or
Fragrance Free.
Am I supposed to mix Washer Whiffs in with my laundry detergent?
You may add Washer Whiffs at the same time you add your laundry detergent. It is not necessary to mix
Washer Whiffs with your liquid detergent prior to adding it to the machine drum. Pour a measured
capful or less of Washer Whiffs into the drum of the washing machine where you add your laundry,
either before or after you add your clothes and linens. Washer Whiffs do not have any cleansing
properties, so you want to add detergent as well. Do not mix Washer Whiffs into your fabric softener
dispenser, bleach dispenser, or your detergent dispenser.
Do the Dryer Disks have fabric softener in them?
Dryer Disks do not contain fabric softener — they are made of a fragrance-infused plastic that transfers
your favorite Scentsy scent to your clothes. For best results, do not use Dryer Disks in an overloaded
dryer. The disks need room to tumble to be effective.
I used the Dryer Disk for 15 loads and it still smells good. Can I keep using it?
The Dryer Disk fragrance and anti-static properties should last for up to 15 loads. If it is still fragrant after
15 loads, you can continue to use your Dryer Disk until the fragrance dissipates. Your Dryer Disk may
show signs of wear after use.
I’ve noticed my laundry filter has been gumming up since I started using Dryer Disks. What’s
happening?
Some high-efficiency dryer filters need more frequent cleaning when using Dryer Disks. If you find that
your dryer filter is clogging, simply remove it and clean it with soap and water.
Are Layers laundry care products safe to use in high-efficiency washers and dryers?
Yes. Layers laundry care products are safe to use in all types of washers and dryers, including highefficiency and standard machines, as well as front- and top-loading machines.
Are Layers laundry care products safe to use with a septic tank?
Yes. Layers laundry care products are safe to use with septic tanks; they are completely water-soluble.
Are Layers laundry care products safe to use on sensitive skin?
Yes. Layers products are clinically tested for allergies and irritation. The few people with known, specific
fragrance ingredient sensitivities should test on a small patch of skin before using.
Are Layers laundry care products safe to use with dry wick clothing and cloth diapers?
Layers laundry care products do not contain fabric softeners and are safe to use with dry wick clothing
and cloth diapers.
Bath and Body Care Products
Why doesn’t the Shower Gel get really sudsy?
The cleansing agents in the Shower Gel are gentle and effective, maximizing cleansing with decreased
suds.
Will my Bath Tablet dissolve completely?
The rate at which your Bath Tablet dissolves depends on a number of factors, such as the temperature
of the water and where the tablet is placed in the bath. If your tablet hasn’t completely dissolved, you
can break it up by agitating the water or crumbling the Bath Tablet in the water.
Do Bath Tablets contain mineral oil?
Bath Tablets contain a cosmetic-grade mineral oil as a moisturizing agent.
Is the Hand Soap antibacterial?
Layers Hand Soap does not have antibacterial properties; however, the very act of washing your hands is
the most effective method of preventing the spread of germs and will help limit the transfer of bacteria.
Do Layers by Scentsy Suncare products protect against both UVA and UVB damage?
Layers Suncare Lotions in SPF 15 and SPF 50 offer broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB
rays. For best results, apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure, and reapply after 80 minutes of
swimming or sweating, towel drying, and/or every two hours. Spending time in the sun increases your
risk of skin cancer and early aging; to decrease this rick, regularly use a broad-spectrum SPF with a value
of 15 or more, wear protective clothing, and limit time in the sun, especially between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Does the Layers Hand Sanitizer contain alcohol?
Yes. Hand Sanitizer uses alcohol to help ingredients mix together; it makes up less than 25 percent of the
product, helping to reduce the sticky feeling found in some hand sanitizers. It also uses a common,
environmentally friendly anti-microbial active ingredient called Benzalkonium Chloride (0.13 percent)
sometimes referred to as “BAC” in the anti-bacterial or sanitization industries, in a moisturizing base.
Fragrance Information
How long will the fragrance last in Layers by Scentsy products?
The amount of time the fragrance lasts on your skin depends on your own body chemistry. Layers by
Scentsy products contain the highest concentration and quality of fragrances possible, giving the wearer
the longest lasting fragrance experience possible.
Why doesn’t my Layers by Scentsy product smell exactly like my Scentsy bar with the same name?
Each Layers by Scentsy product is created with an existing Scentsy fragrance in mind, but each scent has
been reformulated with fragrance oils designed to be worn on the body. The fragrance we use in Layers
by Scentsy is designed to interact with your own skin and chemistry, resulting in a different — and
deeply personal — fragrance on each wearer.
What is the difference between “fine” fragrance and “home” fragrance?
Fine fragrance is wearable and designed with your skin in mind; it’s cosmetic grade. Each individual has a
unique experience wearing fine fragrance because your skin modifies the scent due to your skin pH
interacting with the fragrance. Home fragrance, like the kind we use in our wax and room sprays, is not
designed for your skin and is not approved for use in cosmetics.
How many fragrances are available in the Layers product line?
Fragrances vary depending on the category and individual product type. Available fragrances are
identified in the catalog at the bottom of the page for each product.
Business Rules
What if I need to return my Layers by Scentsy product?
Scentsy Family products come with a Lifetime Replacement Warranty for manufacturer’s defects. A
customer who has a product that is damaged in shipping from Scentsy Family, has a manufacturer‘s
defect, with no limitation in time, for replacement through their Consultant or directly through Scentsy
Family by calling Consultant Support and following the Returned Merchandise procedure.
Independent Scentsy Family Consultants are responsible for all exchanges outside of defective or
products damaged in shipping. If a customer is not satisfied with a product for any reason, they can
work with the Consultant they purchased the item from to return it within 30 days of purchase. The
Consultant can then work with Scentsy Inc. to return the product for a ‘like for like’ exchange up to $100
annually for Scentsy Fragrance products.
What product warranty applies to Layers by Scentsy products?
The Layers by Scentsy line has a three-year product replacement warranty. That means if the product is
defective, you may return the product (opened or unopened) and we will replace the product with a
new package of the same product when it is available, or with a similar product if the original product is
no longer available.
Does Layers offer Combine & Save packages?
Yes. Refer to the Scentsy catalog for all Layers Combine & Save offerings.
Can Host Rewards be used with all Layers Combine & Save packages?
You may use Host Rewards to purchase Layers by Scentsy Combine & Save packages. Choose between
host credit and half-price item rewards.
Is there a package or kit to purchase that includes one of each Layers by Scentsy product?
Not at this time.
Are samples available in Layers by Scentsy products?
Layers samples are not available — only full-size Personal Retail Volume (PRV) product.
Can I make samples of my Layers by Scentsy products?
The regulations and laws governing the sampling of Layers personal care products are different than
those for scented wax and often vary by location and use. Just like with tax advice, we can’t give specific
legal advice on sampling without putting your status as Independent Consultants at risk.
Sample making across all brands will not be a compliance issue. If you choose to make samples, please
understand the risk is yours to take. You should comply with the laws and regulations at all levels.
