Stamps
STAMP PAINTING
Decorative Painter and Mixed Media Artist Debbie Cole has created a variety of projects using Stamps and acrylics paints. These were a
hit at the Creative Painting show in Las Vegas in February 2014. Debbie has used several of the Jumbo Cling Rubber stamps
which are well suited for use with acrylic paints and other media designed for the durable home goods market.

STAMPING HOW-TO:
STAMPS
You will need a cosmetic sponge wedge (without oils or lotions) to
apply the paint to your stamp. To start, apply the stamp to an acrylic
handle. Dampen the cosmetic sponge wedge and remove as much
water as possible. Pour a puddle of paint on your palette paper.
Pounce the sponge into the paint and then on a clean area of the palette. When you look at the bottom of the sponge, it should be covered
by paint but you should stil be able to see the texture of the sponge.
Pounce the sponge to basecoat your stamp.
These quality cling-mount rubber stamps are made from deeply etched, precision
trimmed premium grey rubber. With a 1/8” thick grey foam for a smooth impression on uneven or textured surfaces, each stamp is backed with a full sized
index of the image. The index allows for precise placement of the image when
used with a clear acrylic handle. The images feature original artwork designed

When using paint on stamps it is important that you do not overload
the stamp. If you don’t like what you have stamped, simply wipe it off
with a wet wipe. Stamps can be cleaned with soap and water. If there
is any dried paint, use an old tooth brush to clean.
Stamping simply eliminates tracing and transfering. Once the stamped
image is down you can paint it using your regular painting techniques.
