Interim (anniversary) Drug Test Requirements
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHEDULING YOUR DRUG TEST
“Yellow” Taxicab & For-Hire Vehicle Drivers
All Yellow taxicab and For-hire vehicle drivers MUST take and pass their drug test EVERY YEAR in order to keep the
license valid. You must take and pass your drug test thirty (30) days before your license is one (1) year old
For Example:
If your TLC Driver’s license expires on 7/30/2015, you MUST take your Interim drug test
between:
7/1/2014 and 7/30/2014
Example:
7/30/2013
TLC License Granted
7/1/2014 – 7/30/2014
Take your anniversary Drug
test during this time
7/30/2014
Anniversary Date
7/1/2015 – 7/30/2015
Take your Renewal Drug
test during this time
7/30/2015
Expiration Date
-You MUST take and pass your drug test within thirty (30) days of your anniversary date.
-You will not be issued a license if you take the drug test earlier than thirty (30) days of your anniversary date.
Failure to take your drug test by your ANNIVERSARY DATE will result in the suspension of your license. You will remain on
suspension until you comply with the requirement. The suspension also carries a $200 fine.
If you no longer wish to drive as a TLC licensee, you must surrender your license before your anniversary date. You
should NOT hold on to your license.
If you do not surrender your license before your anniversary date, you will be held responsible for clearing the
suspension and the fine.
How do I schedule an appointment
You MUST schedule an appointment with a TLC approved laboratory.

For an appointment call 1(800) 923-2624 from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Depending upon the location you choose, it could take up to
48 hours before an appointment time is available.
WALK INS WITHOUT APPOINTMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
If you are not able to make the scheduled appointment you MUST cancel it at least twenty-four (24) hours before. If you do not cancel, you
will be charged $10 for the missed appointment.
It takes approximate three (3) business days for TLC to receive drug test results.
What do I need to take to the Drug Test Site?
A major bank Credit or Debit card or a U.S. Postal or locally issued money order payable to: Labcorp in the amount of $26.00 for payment of
the drug test fee.
Your TLC driver’s license. Copies will not be accepted
Your State Department of Motor Vehicles driver license. If your DMV license does not bear your photograph, bring your temporary DMV
license and a valid photo ID.
You will be tested for the presence of drugs and other controlled substances. A urine sample will be tested. Any sample considered to be adulterated by the
independent laboratory performing the test will be considered “positive” for the presence of illegal substances. The laboratory will submit your test results directly
to the TLC.
