HOW TO replace server USB token license with the TOKENLESS license
G/On server is running with the G/On USB server token inserted. Administrator wants to continue running
G/On server on the same hardware with TOKENLESS option.
This functionality is only available in G/On server version 3.4 and higher. If you are running 3.3.1 or older
version of G/On software, please upgrade your installation to 3.4 version using USB token license before
continuing with the TOKENLESS option.
TOKENLESS feature needs to be purchased separately, therefore make sure your license allows you to use
this feature.
NOTE: license number is case sensitive; CAPITAL letters and numbers must be always used.
Tokenless license number matches EDC serial of the server USB token. For more information, please refer
to section “How to find the EDC serial of server USB token”.
Steps below are only applicable to the described scenario. Please note: different “token to tokenless”
scenarios might require different procedures or steps to apply.
1. Stop Emcads service.
2. Navigate to the G/On installation folder (default c:\Program Files\Emcads\), make a backup of
eprofile and license files before continuing (e.g. copy them to another location). Only eprofile and
license files have to be restored in case something fails.
3. Start GOnBuilder and login
4. Make sure you have tokenless license number ready. If not, it is right time to refer to „HOW TO find
EDC serial of USB token” section.
5. Remove server USB token from the server.
6. Press “Activate license” button or go to File menu and choose “Renew license”.
7. You will be prompted to select your license type.
