Preparation for a Good Farewell: What have we learnt from end-of-life caregivers?
Saying goodbye to a dying loved one is never easy. However, there are people who have managed to bid a
good farewell to their deceased loved ones. Based on findings from a small study conducted with bereaved
family caregivers in Singapore, this presentation aims to share possible ways that will help prepare family
members to say that difficult goodbye to their dying loved ones.
Panel Discussion
Bidding Farewell with Love
Bidding farewell to a dying loved one comes with multiple challenges. Some challenges, though not related to
the impending death of the loved one, may make saying goodbye to the loved one more difficult. Based on
their experience working with dying individuals and their family members, the panel discussants will share with
the audience possible ways to cope with the challenges that come with the need to bid a final farewell to a
dying loved one.
