Overview of the Shooting Positions and Targets used in the CMP Rimfire Sporter Competitions
Hands-On Training: Attendees will demonstrate and apply the lessons learned obtain good positions for
Prone, Sitting/Kneeling and Standing. CMP Master Trainers and Assistants will coach.
Review of Linden’s shooting events calendar.
Rule Overview for RIFLES: Any safe Rimfire rifle with any type of action may be used. Overall weight may not
exceed 7 ½ pounds, with sights. The trigger must be capable of lifting a (3) three-pound weight when cocked.
Thumbhole stocks, adjustable butt plates, adjustable cheek pieces and rails or adjustable (moveable) sling swivels
are not permitted.
AMMUNITION: No ammunition to be brought to the Clinic.
RIFLES: Limited loaner rifles available please coordinate in advance if you need to borrow a rifle for the clinic. If
you bring your, please make sure it is unloaded and cased as you bring it into the clubhouse. An Empty Chamber
Indicator (ECI) will be available for your use during the clinic. The CMP Master Trainers and assistants will check
your rifle prior to the “Hand-On” on training.
NOTE: An eligibility affidavit and liability agreement must be signed during registration
• All attendees will complete liability form!
• Recommend you bring a 3’x6’ piece of carpet, exercise matt for prone and kneeling positions.
