We have over 12,000 items that circulate to our member districts. The collection contains items to support classroom instruction and professional development. Please bookmark our homepage is http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/services/imc/. HOW TO ORDER AND RECEIVE MATERIALS o Ordering materials can be as quick as an email or phone call to the IMC ([email protected] - 715.720.2067). Just tell us what you are looking for, the grade level and type of formats and we would be happy to send what we have. o Or, you can search our online catalog http://alex.cesa10.k12.wi.us/ and login to your account. Once you login you can reserve materials, check item status, create lists and more. Watch this short online tutorial http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/upload/document/224/cattut3.mov o Our van service delivers to your district’s drop site once or twice a week. Materials are then delivered to buildings by your couriers. Our delivery schedule is posted at http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/index.php?Prog=SDocument&Task=Init&ID=250 HOW TO SEARCH THE ONLINE CATALOG o go to the CESA 10 IMC homepage at http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/services/imc/ o click on SEARCH THE CATALOG (upper left) o click on the BOOLEAN tab (this search interface has the most options) o with the search ALL WORDS appearing in the drop-down menu. Simply type in the terms, author or title you are searching for and click on SEARCH. To search for an exact match, put a period after the word (i.e. "CATS."). HOW TO LOG INTO THE CATALOG o go to the CESA 10 IMC homepage http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/services/imc/ o click on SEARCH THE CATALOG (upper left) o click on LOGGED OUT at the top of the screen or from a search screen click on PATRON LOGIN (upper left) o type in your login information o login: (7-digit number or school email address) o password: (your last name) HOW TO PLACE A RESERVATION o once you have located the item you would like to reserve, click on PLACE RESERVATION located at the bottom of the item record, login if requested o a new window with a set of calendars aligned to your district’s delivery schedule will open. Days that the item is already in use or scheduled for another educator will appear in blue/red o move the calendars forward and back by using the arrows o click on the date you want the item to be delivered to your district, it will appear in the START DATE o leave the END DATE blank, the software knows when the item is due back (3 weeks) o click on PLACE RESERVATION 2 o a dialog will come up either confirming your reservation or informing you of why your request was denied. Online reservations are processed from 8 AM until 4 PM Monday through Friday It is not possible to place a one reservation on multiple items (i.e. your cart). Each item must be reserved individually. If you have numerous reserves you may wish to send a list or contact the IMC and we will reserve them for you. PATRON DETAILS Once you login you can view what is checked out, overdue and on reserve. PATRON EDIT Once you login you can update your personal information, change your password, renew items or delete/edit reservations. HOW TO DELETE RESERVATION(S) Login and click on Patron Edit, click on Reservations and delete or contact the IMC and we will do so for you. HOW TO RENEW ITEM(S) Login and click on Patron Edit to renew or contact the IMC and we will renew an item(s) for you if no other educator is waiting for it. SAVED LISTS Lists can be saved once you login. These lists will be permanent until you delete them. MORE ON SEARCHING It is possible to limit or expand your search results by mixing ANDs and ORs and the order of the search determines the results that you receive. If there is one search term that should appear in every record, that search term should be the last thing searched for using the AND Boolean operator. It is also effective to limit by grade level or format. o To Limit by Grade Level o in the ALL WORDS field, type in the main topic you are interested in. o in the next field, select INTEREST CODE from drop down menu and type in one of the following terms: preschool (for preschool only) kindergarten (for kindergarten only) primary (for kindergarten through 3rd grade) intermediate (4th through 6th grade) middle school (6th through 9th grade) high school (9th through 12th grade) o To Limit by Format o in the ALL WORDS field, type in the main topic you are interested in. 3 o select MEDIUM from drop down menu and use one of the following terms. activity card art reproduction book cartographic materials computer file costume die cut electronic resource equipment flash card game kit model picture serial slide sound recording test toy transparency video (for tape and DVD) ADDITIONAL NOTES Our ELLISON DIE CUT collection is very popular. TUMBLEBOOKS is a fun collection of animated digital books, puzzles, quizzes and more that students can access from home or school. Go to our homepage http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/services/imc/ and click on Tumblebooks. Login is not required. E-BOOKS are available to educators. E-Books for Educators is a collection of e-books via Follett Shelf. To access go to the CESA 10 IMC homepage & click on the link at the top of the screen. System requirement information and user guides are also posted there. Login using your school email address and your last name for password - or - use the guest login Username: teacher, Password: cesa10. FREADING E-BOOK SERVICE is provides a number of titles on a variety of topics. Login with your school email and last name. REFERENCE SERVICES IMC staff will conduct research for CESA 10 staff and district administrators and teachers on educational issues. Requests can be as simple as a copy of an article to more complex research on a specific topic. Please do not submit requests that fulfill a personal PD or university assignment. SCHOOL INSERVICES AND IMC TOURS IMC staff will visit your school and provide a short presentation on IMC services and resources. Educators may also schedule an on-site visit to the IMC.
