1. Travel from Vienna International Airport (Schwechat)
A.
By taxi directly to the JVI Residence
Information on rates is available from the information desk in the arrivals hall. One of the least expensive
options is with C & K Airport-Service. You can book a C & K taxi from your home country at the following
e-mail address: [email protected] (website: www.ck-airportservice.at ). Please note that e-mails
will only be dealt with from Monday-Friday from 06.00-18.00 hrs. However, reservations by telephone: (+431) 444-44 or fax: (+43-1) 689-6969 can be made 24 hours a day. The flat rate is €29.00. Airport Service
Wien also offers special rates. Please go to www.airportservice.at for further information.
B.
By shuttle bus to Westbahnhof station
There is a shuttle bus departing every half hour between 06.05-00.05 hrs from the airport to the railway
station Westbahnhof (current rate €6.00 single and €11.00 return). Please note that the bus stops en route,
at Südbahnhof railway station. Please do not get off here but wait until the bus reaches it final destination,
Westbahnhof.
From Westbahnhof station you can take a taxi directly to Schmalzhofgasse 12 (approximate cost €4.00€5.00). Or
You can travel one stop by underground (U-Bahn) on the U3 line from Westbahnhof (direction Simmering,
last carriage at the back of the train) to Zieglergasse. A single ticket costs €1.70. At Zieglergasse take the exit
for Webgasse and go up the escalators.
* At the top of the escalators, take the left exit marked “Webgasse” (leading onto Mariahilfer Strasse). On
Mariahilfer Strasse walk up the street towards the shoe shop “Salamander”, which is on the left, until you
reach Webgasse. Turn left and walk down Webgasse until you reach Schmalzhofgasse (2 minutes). Turn left
into Schmalzhofgasse and walk to number 12, which is on the left (see map overleaf for location). It is
approximately 5-7 minutes walk from the underground station Zieglergasse to the JVI Residence. It is not
recommended to go this way with a lot of luggage.

By train (S-bahn) and underground
There is a train (S-Bahn) connection from the airport to the station, Landstrasse/Wien Mitte (cost €3.40).
The same ticket can be used to travel on the underground line U3 (direction Ottakring) from
Landstrasse/Wien Mitte to Zieglergasse (travel in the first carriage at the front of the train). At Zieglergasse
take the exit for Webgasse and go up the escalators. Then follow the instructions given in 1B*.
D. By CAT (City Airport Train) and underground
There is also an express train connection (CAT) from the airport to the underground station,
Landstrasse/Wien Mitte, which takes 16 minutes. Trains depart every 30 minutes from the CAT Terminal
at the airport to Landstrasse/Wien Mitte (U3 underground station) at 06.06 hrs (first train) and 23.36 hrs (last
train) and from CAT Terminal at Landstrasse Wien Mitte to the airport at 05.37 hrs (first train) and 23.07 hrs
(last train). Tickets cost €9.00 (single) and €16.00 (return) and can be bought at one of the ticket vending
machines at the airport (one is located in luggage hall in arrivals) or “online” for €8.00 (single) and €15.00
(return) at the website address: www.cityairporttrain.com . A single ticket can also be purchased on the train
at a cost of €10.00.
From the CAT Terminal in Landstrasse Wien Mitte walk to the U3 underground station (in the same
building). Underground tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine located in the main hall of
Landstrasse Wien Mitte. The price is €1.70 for a single ticket. From Landstrasse/Wien Mitte take the U3 line
(direction Ottakring) to Zieglergasse (travel in the first carriage at the front of the train). At Zieglergasse take
the exit for Webgasse and go up the escalators. Then follow the instructions given in 1B*.
2. Travel from Südbahnhof station
From Südbahnhof station you can take a taxi directly to Schmalzhofgasse 12 (approximate cost €10.00€13.00). Or
You can take tram number 18 (direction Burggasse/Stadthalle) from Südbahnhof to Westbahnhof station.
A single ticket can be bought directly from the ticket machine in the tram (cost €2.20).
