EUROCYCLE FOR ENVIRONMENT AN YOUTH EXCHANGE ABOUT How to Treat he Natural Environment Protection Areas In Europe in A Sustainable Way? PÄRNU - ESTONIA SUNDAY 22ND APRIL (ARRIVAL DAY) - WEDNESDAY 02NDMAY (DEPARTURE DAY) 2012 PARTNERS AND PARTICIPANTS GUIDE TAKE ME WITH YOU AND DON’T LOSE ME! EuroCycle for Environment – Participants Guide - Designed by EuroCycle team© WELCOME Congratulations! You are a partner in the Youth Exhcnage EuroCycle for Environment and you are among the 35 participants that will take part at the exchange. Groups from Estonia, Spain, Lithuania, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy and Slovenia will get together! You are among these participants, because we believe that you will benefit from the training course. As well we believe that you will be the one that can share his/her experience with others and therefore be the source of enrichment for the other participants. We hope that those 10 days you will spend at “EuroCycle for Environment” will be for you a vivid and useful intercultural experience. To achive this we need to look at some practical needs as well and therefore we have prepared for you this “participants survival guide”, which will help you to answer many questions and as well to prepare for the project. Read the guide carefully and keep it with you on your travels so you can check the information whenever you need. We are looking forward to meet you in Pärnu, Estonia. THE TEAM If you hoped to see our pictures in this part then we are sorry. You will have to wait until you get to Estonia to find this out. However we can tell you that the team of organisers and facilitators is from the Estonia and Brazil. Marika Triin Marco And how will we do it? It will be an exchange, but not like one where you can sit back and relax. We will use active methods, based on experimental learning in combination with practical theory. This means that you will work in workshops, with role plays and exchange the experiences you have from your day to day work and work on concrete future project plans. WHAT LANGUAGE WILL WE USE Despite many of you speak many different languages the official training language will be English only. THE ACTIVITIES In short: Implemented activities: - Teambuilding games, Ice breaking, traditional games, - Non-formal learning, discussions, role play, reflection, simulation games - Presentations (each country Power-point presentations – topic “recycle, environmental and nature conservation in my country). We will learn in a pleasant way the similarities between our countries and the common cultural heritage. This will underline our similarities encourage dialogue, understanding the other’s position and accept and create new perspectives. EuroCycle for Environment – Participants Guide - Designed by EuroCycle team© - Getting to know the hosting place - city orientation “St. George´ routine” - study tours to nature (Tolkuse hiking trail, Soomaa National park, Paikre waste Treatment Centre and Pärnu Nature and Technology Building/ TUPC) - National Culture evening with traditional foods and drinks, dancing, singing customs, national games or particular traditions - Participation in worldwide environmental protection project in Estonia called “Let´s do it!” - Creating of a Flashmob (with musical instruments and costumes made of recycled materials) INTERCULTURAL EVENING During the Youth Exchange we plan to arrange an InterCultural Evening. You will present your own cultures – national, regional, personal or any kind of culture you feel you belong to. These presentations, you will çasy one evening to each country, should not be a “lecture” but should be done in the creative way. This means that all options are possible. A culture may be presented by a song, a story, a poem, a dance, some drink or food, etc. You may bring pictures, music or anything which you consider to be most appropriate to present your culture. There be as well dvd/video/audio player and data projector within the time limits. However we appreciate if you find more creative way to present your culture. We will not have a kitchen to prepare the meals for the intercultural evening, so we suggest that you adapt your food and drinks to that reality (we can arrange a refrigerator, if necessary). Each country will have a budget of 20 euros for the Intercultural evening products, that will be reimbursed under presentation of the invoice. Note that we will not reimburse the products without and invoice. Participants can bring alcoholic drinks to evening, but as we don’t encourage any alcoholic behaviour we will NOT reimbruse any alcoholic drinks. (We prefer to use the budget of the project in something more positive ☺ ). So in short it should be actually presentation, it should be an activity or something and it is up to you to replace the word something. MARKET OF ORGANISATIONS One of the nice side effects of international exchange is the opportunity to meet new and nice and interesting people from different organizations all over Europe.
