UNDERSTAND THE SIPe aM&T REQUIREMENT
1.
How many ‘Datapoints’ are required?

Note
SIPe M-Log supports 25, 50 or 100 Datapoints but upgrading to this variant will disable all communications with the Trend BMS.

Do you require a SIPe Vision upgrade as well?

Note
SIPe Vision (SIPe/VISION/FW) is an additional/optional upgrade compatible with all SIPe products that allows ‘Datapoints’ from networked SIPe
products to be shown on a public display. Typically, 1 SIPe Vision per facility/site/Project.
The SIPe aM&T products use a specifically formatted storage device, that will be sent to you when ordering an aM&T upgrade.

Record the MAC Address and Serial number of the SIP Trend Interface product you wish to upgrade.
Record the ‘ModBus’ or ‘M-Bus’ and ‘vIQ’ driver versions currently loaded. It is advisable to
ensure the latest driver versions are installed prior to upgrading.

SIPe IF-Log supports 100 Datapoints. These are the points used to create the Dashboard graphs.
Raise a Purchase Order and contact Synapsys Solutions Ltd.
Remember
Synapsys Solutions Ltd. will require the MAC Address and Serial Number (e.g.
001348nnnnnn and Annnnnnnnn) to complete an aM&T upgrade request.
Caution
The SIPe upgrade (file provided) filename identifies the only SIP that the file can be applied
to, i.e. SIP_Update-00_11_40_00_05_10. Applying this file to any other SIP than that
identified by the filename, will invalidate the upgrade, and prevent any further use of the
product. The SIP MUST be returned to Synapsys Solutions Ltd.

ENSURE ALL DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE
1.
Login to SIP Trend Interface product, and click the dot in the ‘i’ in sip in the header banner. Record what version is loaded.

Press ‘VIQ Pages’, and click the dot in the ‘i’ in sip in the header banner. Record what version is loaded.
Tip!
Contact Technical Support for information about latest driver versions.
3.
Press ‘Backup and restore’. Select ‘Backup’ to ensure the latest site configuration is secure.
4.
Select ‘Restore’ and load the latest ‘ModBus’ or ‘M-Bus’ driver file. Wait for the SIP to reboot.
Tip!
Please be patient. A pulse is heard while the files are loading, and a fanfare will sound before the SIP(e) automatically reboots.

UPGRADE THE SIP TO SIPE AM&T

Repeat ‘Login and press ‘Backup and restore’. Select ‘Restore’ and load the latest ‘vIQ’ driver file. Wait for the SIP to reboot.
SIPe aM&T products use a pre-formatted storage device, ONLY available from Synapsys Solutions Ltd.
1.
Fit the specifically formatted storage device (supplied on SIPe aM&T upgrade request) to the USB port closest to the back of the SIP.
2.
Repeat ‘Login’ and press ‘Backup and restore’. Select ‘Restore’ and load the ‘SIPe aM&T’ upgrade file. Wait for the SIP to reboot.
3.
Repeat ‘Login’ and confirm the site configuration is correct.
Tip!
If necessary, use the ‘Reset’ button to restart the SIPe aM&T product if the ‘Login’ fails.
Tip!
If necessary, apply the ‘Backup’ file to restore site configuration.
