How to set up your mobile
device for LSBU email
This help sheet is for students who wish to connect to the LSBU wireless network and
set up their LSBU mailbox with their mobile device. Wireless Internet access is available
throughout the University’s public buildings. This does not apply to the Halls of
residence.
Setting Up the LSBU Microsoft Exchange Email on an
Apple device
Note: For the initial setups please make sure your Wi-Fi is on and you are connected to
the Eduroam or LSBU_Student_Staff wireless network (within the campus) before you
start. See IT 41 How to connect to Wi-Fi.

1. tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
2. Tap Add Account.

3. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
1. Tap in the Email box and enter your full LSBU e-mail address.
2. The Domain box can be left blank for students who have enrolled after 2010. (For
students who have enrolled before 2010 type in LSBU.)
3. In the Username box, for students who have enrolled after 2010: enter in your
full LSBU email address. For students who have enrolled before 2010: enter in
your username.
4. Tap in the Password box and enter your password. (Case sensitive)
5. The Description box can be left blank.
6. Tap the Next button on the upper right corner of the screen.
7. Exchange should now verify your account and will then prompt you for your sever
settings which are: (For students who have enrolled after 2010) m.outlook.com
(For students who have enrolled before 2010): mail.lsbu.ac.uk
8. Tap next. Exchange should now verify your account again.

9. Choose the type of information you want to synchronize. By default, Mail,
Calendar, and Contacts are all turned on. Choose YES to keep all contact info on
iPhone.
10. Tap Done/Save. The account should now be added
11. Tap on the home button and launch email.
12. If you had a previous email account setup on your iPhone you can toggle
between the two freely.
Note: Please be aware that the University does not support configuration of the LSBU
email server to mobile devices and is not responsible for any loss of data.

LSBU Online services (Outlook live, Skydrive and Office
live)
This section is for new students starting their studies in the 2010 academic year. To use
these online services you must be connected to the network and have your LSBU
username, password and email address. If you have not yet, you can set up your details
via www.lsbu.ac.uk/selfservice and follow the on-screen instructions.
Outlook live is a web-based email system, which means that you can access your LSBU
emails from any computer that has Internet access.
Setting Up the LSBU Microsoft Exchange Email on an
BlackBerry device
Please note: Some older models will be able to receive emails but will not support
calendars (or calendar related information).

How do I set up POP / IMAP email on my Blackberry?
1) From the BlackBerry home screen Click on Setup.
2) Select Email Settings.
or
3) Click on the Add button.

5) Select POP/IMAP, then enter in your details:
Email address: your university email address
Password: your university password
Email server: m.outlook.com
Username: your full university email address
6) Click on Next
7) Click on OK to confirm. The LSBU email account should now be set up and will start
receiving mail (sometimes after 20 minutes).

Setting Up the LSBU Microsoft Exchange Email on an
Android device
1) In the settings/Apps menu, Select Email.
2) Select Set up email. If there multiple choices for mail types, choose Microsoft
exchange.
3) Enter in your LSBU email address and password and select next.

4) Enter in the:
 Domain\your LSBU email address
 LSBU Password
 LSBU Exchange Server name
5) The server settings will be checked.
6) The mail server will ask you to control some features, click OK.

7) Account options/configuration will now be displayed.
8) Select Activate.

9) Select Done and the LSBU mail account will now be set up.
Note: Please be aware that the University does not support student configuration of
the LSBU email server to mobile devices and is not responsible for any loss of data.
