How to install your CTCSS-Unit CTN-520 remake
for STANDARD C-220, C-228, C-520, C-528, C-620, C-628
This unit is an improved remake of the legendary CTN-520.
Plase take care on ESD-safe handling.
1. Remove both screws of
the backside
2. Remove both screws of
bottom / front-side
3. Separate the back panel from
the front panel carefully
4. Take of the paper from
the tape, put in the plug and
put the unit onto the
controller.

! Please check deviation of CTCSS-signal !
Settings on your portable:
Setting CTCSS-tone-frequency:
Press and hold function-key, then push key „0“ and release Func-key.
After this push key „7“.
Your display will show you some numbers. This is the current CTCSS-frequency.
You can change it by turning the VFO-knob.
Confirm by pushing PTT.
Transmitting with CTCSS-tone:
Press and hold the function-key and press key “7“.
„T“ will be displayed. Now your transmission is combined with a CTCSS-tone.
Receiving only CTCSS-stations with same CTCSS-frequencies:
Press and hold the function-key and press key “7“ again.
Now your display shows „T.SQ“.
Squelch only will open when a singal with correct CTCSS-frequency is being received.
In addition your transmission is combined with the selected CTCSS-tone.
