What is WSFEE? Founded in 1992, the Western Springs Foundation for Educational Excellence (WSFEE) is a non-profit volunteer organization with a mission to acquire and distribute financial and other resources for the benefit of Western Springs School District 101 students. What Does WSFEE Do? WSFEE provides funding, via grant requests, for innovative educational programs and projects that will extend and enhance the quality and depth of education that are not part of the District 101 operational budget. Grants support every aspect of education, such as the arts, science, technology, literacy, social studies and physical education. Details regarding the grant application process can be found on www.wsfee.org. Did You Know? WSFEE has awarded more than $980,000 in grants since its inception. Programs/projects funded by WSFEE in 2012 include: • • • • • Advanced math novels SketchUp 3D Virtual Modeling & Design program After School Girls Self-Defense & Awareness program Choirchime musical instruments Railyard equipment for physical education classes • • • • • Bugs Alive! program Quaver Music education program Adler Planetarium field trip History Alive! The Ancient World curriculum Kitchen mixers for Consumer Science curriculum How You Can Help Donate: Your financial contribution will help WSFEE continue to fulfill its mission of enhancing the educational experience of children in District 101. Sponsorship and Silent Auction Donations – Sponsors and silent auction donations are vital to the success of all WSFEE fundraising events. Sponsors and silent auction donations are currently being sought for the WSFEE Dinner Dance in February 1, 2014. Submit Grant Applications: New this year – Grants are now being continuously accepted September 2013 through April 2014.
