We are seeking a senior research officer to join the Marulu Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Prevention Strategy Team, to assist with all aspects of research
design, data collection, analysis and reporting relating to the Marulu FASD Prevention Strategy and related projects. This is an opportunity for a senior research officer
experienced in epidemiology/biostatistics, health promotion, and/or applied research.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS , KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications: what are the minimum educational, technical or
professional qualifications required to competently perform role

MPH or PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:







Extensive experience in study design and data management
Experience in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of data in health or related fields
Demonstrated experience in preparation of data outputs for presentations and publications
Experience in the preparation of research papers and reports
Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
Excellent written communication skills





Experience in undertaking literature reviews
Knowledge of alcohol use in pregnancy and FASD
Training or experience in health promotion, public health or behavioural research
Experience in the field of Aboriginal health or research
Ability to travel to remote Aboriginal communities for up to 2 weeks at a time to conduct data
collection
