VersaLab – 3 Tesla Cryogen-free Vibrating Sample Magnetometer Specifications
VersaLabTM – 3 Tesla Cryogen-free Vibrating Sample Magnetometer Available options nn nn nn nn nn nn nn Electro-transport measurement option (ETO and DC resistivity) VSM oven for sample temperatures up to 1.000 K VSM LBC for large samples Heat capacity measurement Multi-function probe Pressure cells Thermal transport option (coming soon) Specifications Initial system cool down ~10 hours Temperature control Temperature range 50 to 400 K Cool down time from 300 to 50 K ~90 minutes Magnet VersaLab is the first cryogen-free Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) from Quantum Design. Due to its compact size it is a mobile device. The sensitivity of this 3 Tesla VSM is 10-6 emu/ Hz. As with all Quantum Design measurement instruments, VersaLab is a fully automated turnkey system with a user-friendly interface. It is specially designed for magnetic material characterization over a wide temperature range. Since it includes a cryocooler there is no need for any cryogenic liquid. The VersaLab utilizes the technology from Quantum Design‘s popular PPMS (Physical Property Measurement System) VersaLab gives the user nn nn nn nn nn Free time while instrument performs the automated measurements Free space in the lab because of its compact size and portability Freedom from cooling water and high power requirements Freedom from liquid cryogens A single hardware configuration for a wide range of temperatures, fields, and magnetic moments System features nn nn nn nn Portable Small size Functional versatility Powered from single-phase outlet Field range ±3 Tesla Magnet type NbTi Superconducting Field homogeneity 0.1% over 2.4 cm Slew rate 0.1 to 300 Oe/s Field setting resolution 60 mOe 5 Gauss line Within unit horizontally within 6 cm of the top vertically VSM measurement parameters VSM oscillation frequency 40 Hz, range of 5 to 80 Hz (calibrated) VSM oscillation amplitude 2 mm peak range of 0.1 mm to 5 mm (typical) Data rate and averaging window (typical) 1s Range of 0.5 to 750 s Coil set bore 6 mm (standard), 1.2 cm (large bore optional) Sensitivity using typical parameters and standard coilset Sensitivity (rms) <10-6 emu or 0.5% with 1 s averaging Relative noise Larger of (6 x 10-7 emu + 3 x 10-7 emu/Tesla)/ Hz or 0.5%/ Hz Accuracy Better than 1% or 6 x 10-6 emu with 1mm amplitude Largest measurable moment Mmax [emu] = 40/ (Peak Amplitude [mm]) Dimensions 48 cm wide x 76 cm deep x131 cm high with VSM head Weight 86 kg E-mail: [email protected] LOT-QuantumDesign Europe.
