SQ2 SANITARY SAMPLE COOLER SPECIFICATION Pressure Equipment Directive
SQ2 SANITARY SAMPLE COOLER SPECIFICATION Pressure Equipment Directive The SQ2 Sanitary Sample Cooler is exempt from CE marking as PED 7/23/EC and has been designed and manufactured in accordance with Sound Engineering Practice. General The SQ2 Sanitary Sample Cooler has been designed to cool clean steam to allow it to be safely sampled with the minimum risk of sample contamination. It may also be used to cool samples of hot water, typically Water for Injection. The SQ2 Sample Cooler is designed within the general requirements of the ASME BPE Standard, all wetted components have a surface finish ≤ Ra 0.25 µm (SFT4) and have material certification to EN 10204 type 3.1. Connections Sample connections Cooling water connections ½” Tri-Clamp© compatible ½” BSP or ½” NPT Performance Data Coil surface area Coil design pressure Shell design pressure Weight Capacities (approximate) 0.113 m2 (1.217 ft2) 1 15 barg (215 psig)/198o C (388o F) 1 10 barg (145 psig)/100o C (212o F) 2.0 kg (4.4 lbs) 2 Steam 160 ml/minute 2 Water 500 ml/minute 1 Pressure/temperature rating is also dependent upon Tri-Clamp© & seal suppliers specification. 2 Assumes cooling water at 20o C and flow @ 6 litres/minute (95 US gallons/hour) Product Contact Material Cooling coil Electropolished seamless stainless 316L/1.4404/1.4435 steel tube, ¼” (6.35 mm) outside diameter with 0.89 mm wall thickness. Operating Pressure Max. Operating temp. Volume (nominal) Material Coil 15 barg o 250 C 0.1 L 316L S/S Body 10 barg o 100 C 0.75L 316L S/S Ensure cooling water is flowing before sampling Made in the UK www.ksapharma.com Each of the sample and cooling water connections is permanently marked to correspond with the information on the label. A Job Number is needle engraved onto the sample outlet pipe of each cooler to provide a unique/batch number which corresponds with that provided on the front of each manual/documentation package.
