Accessories for Tablet Disintegration Testing
Pharma Test offers a variety of tools and accessories as described in
the international Pharmacopeias.
Manual Disintegration Test Baskets
Manual tablet disintegration test baskets without automated
disintegration detection are available for PTZ S, DIST 3, PTZ AUTO
and PTZ AUTO EZ instruments. Each basket comes complete with a
set of glass tubes and disks. Both the regular six position “A”-type baskets and the three position “B”type baskets for larger samples are available.
Automated PT-MKT Disintegration Baskets
The PT-MKT electronic disintegration test baskets are used to automatically detect the disintegration
time of nearly all kind of samples, such as tablets, coated tablets, capsules and cores. They feature an
integrated basket temperature sensor to monitor the medium temperature during operation.

Each basket comes complete with a set of glass tubes and disks. Both the regular six position “A”-type
baskets and the three position “B”-type baskets for larger samples are available. These baskets can
be used in the PTZ AUTO EZ instrument series. For PTZ AUTO instruments an upgrade to the fully
automated PTZ AUTO EZ version is available.
Disintegration Disks and Glass Tubes
Disks are available for the standard “A”-type disintegration baskets as well as for the three position
“B”-type baskets for larger samples.
The disks for the automated PT-MKT baskets feature a metal ring with small needles on the bottom.
Once the sample has disintegrated, this ring closes the contact between the two sieve halves on the
bottom of the PT-MKT basket and the time is disintegration is logged automatically.
Glass tubes are available for the “A”- and “B”-type baskets as well:

The current USP and EP Pharmacopeia have different requirements concerning the glass tubes used
in the “B”-type disintegration baskets. Therefore we offer two types of baskets. One version is
compliant to the current USP only; the other version is compliant to both Pharmacopeia.
Adjustment Gauge for Stroke Height of Baskets
To quickly qualify the depth and stroke height of the disintegration baskets we offer this adjustment
gauge (part no. 101-2000):
A calibration certificate is optionally available as well (part no. 101-3210).
