PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A.
General Performance: Sectional doors shall meet performance requirements specified
without failure due to defective manufacture, fabrication, installation, or other
defects in construction and without requiring temporary installation of reinforcing
components.
B.
Delegated Design: Design sectional doors, including comprehensive engineering
analysis by a qualified professional engineer, using performance requirements and
design criteria indicated.
C.
Structural Performance: Exterior sectional doors shall withstand the effects of gravity
loads, and the following loads and stresses within limits and under conditions
indicated according to ASCE/SEI 7.

nonmagnetic stainless-steel through bolts, full height of door section. Form meeting
rails to provide a weathertight-seal joint.

TRACKS, SUPPORTS, AND ACCESSORIES
A.
Tracks: Manufacturer's standard, galvanized-steel track system of configuration
indicated, sized for door size and weight, designed for lift type indicated and
clearances shown on Drawings. Provide complete track assembly including brackets,
bracing, and reinforcement for rigid support of ball-bearing roller guides for required
door type and size. Slot vertical sections of track spaced 2 inches (51 mm) apart for
door-drop safety device. Slope tracks at proper angle from vertical or design tracks to
ensure tight closure at jambs when door unit is closed.
B.
Weatherseals: Replaceable, adjustable, continuous, compressible weather-stripping
gaskets of flexible vinyl, rubber, or neoprene fitted to bottom and top of sectional
door unless otherwise indicated.

COUNTERBALANCE MECHANISM

Cable Drums and Shaft for Doors: Cast-aluminum or gray-iron casting cable drums
mounted on torsion shaft and grooved to receive door-lifting cables as door is raised.

rigid installation of track and door-operating equipment. Repair galvanized coating
on tracks according to ASTM A 780.

Adjust hardware and moving parts to function smoothly so that doors operate easily,
free of warp, twist, or distortion. Adjust doors and seals to provide weathertight fit
around entire perimeter.

INSTALLATION

Comply with manufacturer's written instructions for installing windows, hardware, accessories,
and other components. For installation procedures and requirements not addressed in
manufacturer's written instructions, comply with installation requirements in ASTM E 2112.

Install windows level, plumb, square, true to line, without distortion, anchored securely in place
to structural support, and in proper relation to wall flashing and other adjacent construction to
produce weathertight construction.
C.
Adjust operating sashes and hardware for a tight fit at contact points and weather stripping for
smooth operation and weathertight closure.
D.
Clean exposed surfaces immediately after installing windows. Remove excess sealants, glazing
materials, dirt, and other substances.

INSTALLATION
A.
Examine substrates, over which mirrors are to be mounted, with Installer present, for
compliance with installation tolerances, substrate preparation, and other conditions affecting
performance of the Work.

Verify compatibility with and suitability of substrates, including compatibility of mirror
mastic with existing finishes or primers.
Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected and
surfaces are dry.

Comply with mastic manufacturer's written installation instructions for preparation of
substrates, including coating substrates with mastic manufacturer's special bond coating
where applicable.

General: Install mirrors to comply with mirror manufacturer's written instructions and with
referenced GANA publications. Mount mirrors accurately in place in a manner that avoids
distorting reflected images.
