Community Learning FREE & Family Learning
Community Learning FREE & Family Learning Autumn and Winter 2014-15 zons i r o H ning g Broade & Wellbein Health dy for Work Rea Skills Funding Agency National Family Learning Festival October 2014 Introducing Community Courses Wandsworth Lifelong Learning works with a wide range of partners to provide community development learning opportunities at venues across the borough. These include Family Learning courses for adults and their children and wider community development courses for adults only. For further information please contact Loraine Williams Community Development Officer Phone: 020 8871 8493 E-mail: [email protected] Website: www.wandsworthlifelonglearning. org.uk What is Family Learning? Wandsworth Council currently delivers Family Learning courses in a wide range of venues including libraries, community and voluntary organisations. In addition to this we are working with over 30 primary and secondary schools, as well as South Thames College. Adults must accompany children on all Family Learning courses, unless stated. There are to be a maximum of 2 children per adult. Please check with each course for more information. Please also check the programme for age ranges. Family Learning Programmes support fun learning activities and are available for parents, grandparents, carers and can involve other family members. Courses aim to give parents/carers confidence in being involved in their children’s education. Please note: In workshops, priority will be given to new learners. Please arrive on time. If you are over half an hour late to a fee-paying venue we will not be able to organise your free entry after this time. People of all ages discover new interests, aptitudes and abilities. So why not take some time out from your normal family routine and try something that your child will be talking about for weeks! Family English and Maths courses provide opportunities for adults to provide support and find out how children are being taught at school. Recent research has shown the impact that learning as a family has on children’s development and their readiness for school. Family Learning courses are FREE and include all materials, except where stated. If you have any queries or ideas for further Family Learning courses please contact: Belinda Bates Family Learning Coordinator Phone: 020 8871 8490 E-mail: [email protected] Website: www.wandsworth lifelonglearning. org.uk Wandsworth Council Professional Centre Franciscan Road London SW17 8HE Please telephone the centre to book your FREE place on a Family Learning course as places are limited and operate on a first come first served basis. www.wandsworthlifelonglearning.org.uk Family Learning Programme Family Learning Timetable Key to Symbols Wheelchair Access Toilet Free light refreshments All courses are FREE but you will need to book a place unless otherwise stated Broadening Horizons Family French Bonjour!
