Good Morning Falcons I’m Brooke, and I’m Rebecca, today is Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Navy Out shirts are $12. Pink Out shirts are $15. 50% will go to MD Anderson Cancer Research. They will be sold at all lunches during October. Navy out shirts are necessary for the pep rally next Thursday. The Morton Ranch game is PINK OUT on October 24th. Come Support your Falcon Football team on Friday October 10th at 7pm as the Falcons taken on Cinco Ranch High School at Rhodes Stadium. Tickets will be on sale Thursday and Friday during all lunches. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. At the gate they are $10 and $5. Tompkins Theatre Company is excited to present Attack of the Pom Pom Zombies. Come and join the fun at the Tompkins High School Performing Arts Center on October 23rd, 24th, and 25th at 7 pm along with a matinee performance at 2 pm on October 25. It’s the 1960’s, school’s out for the summer and the local teenagers are hanging out at the surf club next to the evil villain’s nuclear power plant. What could possibly go wrong? Tickets go on sale online this Friday at tompkinstheatre.com and will also be available to purchase in the rotunda during lunches the week of October 20‐24th. The box office will open one hour prior to each performance, and tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Tompkins Theatre Company has a short meeting today from 2:45‐3:15. We need all members in attendance, we will be taking our yearbook photo. Again, Tompkins Theatre Company Meeting Today Oct. 8th 2:45‐3:15 in the Black Box. Mu Alpha Theta would like to remind members to sign up for the AMC test in Mrs. Olenius or Mrs. Besselman's room by this Friday. Varsity tennis team clinched a spot in the area playoffs (top 4 in district) on Tuesday night with an intense 10‐9 win against Katy HS. Being down 2‐5 after doubles the team fought back and won 8 of 12 singles matches. This is a huge accomplishment considering the strength of our district and the fact that we didn’t win a district match last year at all. 3rd place in the district is on the line next Tuesday as we take on the Katy Taylor Mustangs here at OTHS. Please congratulate these fine student athletes if you see them or have them in class. Hey Falcons! Have you recently had a schedule change? Do you have a book for a class that you are no longer taking? Take that book back to Mrs. Ledet in Room 1314! Then you will have one less thing to worry about. Falcons, Homecoming tickets will go on sale during lunches starting next week and will continue throughout the week. Tickets will be on sale for $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The theme for this year’s dance is Hollywood. Join us for this star‐ studded event from 8‐11 on October 18! Also students, if you are taking someone to the Homecoming Dance who is not a Tompkins student, you will need to pick up a permission form in your grade level AP’s office for them to fill out from their school. Remember, only high school students can attend our dance. The forms must be returned by next Thursday, October 16th. There will be a creative writing club meeting in room 2657 this Friday before AND after school, and we will be voting on t‐shirt designs. Students may bring t‐shirt designs to Mrs. Taylor any time this week. Over the weekend Tompkins Orchestra members participated in All‐Region orchestra auditions held at Kerr HS. Altogether we had 8 students total make the all‐region orchestras including a first place and a seventh place and will represent Tompkins on November 22nd. The Golf Varsity boys played in the Katy Fall Invitational this past weekend at River Ridge Golf Course. The Falcons were led by Blake Inglish with scores of 82‐82 setting new 1 day and 2 day school records. The Varsity girls team played Monday at River Ridge and came in second place overall! The girls were led by Marissa Langer who shot a 9 hole school record 44 and placed third as an individual. Way to go Falcon Golfers! Attention Science Olympiad Competitors: Test‐Offs for event selection will take place in Mr. Crump's room after school on today, tomorrow and Friday. Please see Mr. Crump or check the website for further details. Today is Walk to School Day! Thank you to all of our security guards for helping those that walk to and from school make it safely!
