SESSION OF DRIVERS ED –The second session of Driver’s Ed for this school year begins on October 13 . This will be a 0 Period class
that runs for 6 weeks. You may sign up at the Guidance Counter. You must be 15 ½, have a 2.0 GPA or above and minimal
tardies/absences. Dryden
CANCER SUPPORT GROUP – If you or someone you know is experiencing a loved one going through cancer diagnosis and/or
treatment please know there is help on campus. Please see your counselor or Ms. Cooper in the counseling office so we can help

COUNTY Pageant Orientation-Information meeting will be held Sunday, October 12th @ 3:00 pm, Coco's Restaurant, 301 Daily Dr.,

PSAT – The PSAT will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, periods 1-4 in the BHS Library. Sophomores and Juniors are highly
encouraged to take the test. The cost is $17.00 and tickets may be purchased at the Student Store. The deadline to sign up is
Monday, October 13th.Limited quantities available. Questions…see Ms. Debbas in the Career Center.
JUNIORS AND SENIORS – Are you interested in community service hours? Well, here is your opportunity! We are looking for
responsible and dedicated student to be part of the Friday Night Live Mentoring program. As a mentor, you will be matched with a
middle school student and provide them the opportunity to be in an ongoing, mutually beneficial, and caring relationship! Contact

BMA – The Buena Music Association invites everyone to Skating Plus tonight from 7:00-9:30 pm. Skating Plus is located 1720 Mesa
Vercle Ave. Ventura, CA 93003. The cost per skater is $8.50 and if you’re renting skates its $2.50 for quad skates or $4.00 for in line
skates. A portion of tonight’s box office and snack bar sales will benefit us. *Flyer is not required* Algazy
PERCY JACKSON AT BUENA – The #1 New York Times Bestselling author of the Percy Jackson series, Rick Riordan, will be speaking at
Buena High School and signing books on Tuesday, October 14th. The last day to preorder a book and/or request a wristband is
Friday, October 10th; after that, you will only be able to do “standby seating” for the event. If you’re interested, please see Mr.

RICK RIORDAN WRISTBANDS AND BOOK ORDERS – If you need to pick up your wristband for Tuesday night’s Rick Riordan event
and/or you preordered a signed copy of Rick Riordan’s new book, please see Mr. Levin in the library at lunch on Tuesday. He will

DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS PARTICIPATION – If you are not in a Spanish class, but would like to participate in Buena’s Day of the Dead
celebration, please come see Srta. Bradvica (Rm. 95) by Wednesday, October 15. Ways to be involved: perform at the event, make
an altar with family or friends, volunteer at the event. Or share a unique idea!
DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS – Buena is hosting our second annual Day of the Dead celebration. Everyone is welcome to enjoy, food,
music, and beautiful décor from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 29. This year at our Day of the Dead Celebration we will have a
professional taquero (or taco guy). If you are planning on coming to the event, buy a presale ticket for a delicious dinner. You can
buy a plate that includes 3 tacos, rice and beans, and half of a quesadilla for $7.00; or buy single tacos for $2.50. Go to the ASB store
to buy your presale tickets and save! Prices will increase at the event. Guzik
