If you are a permanent employee of Bristol City Council these fixed term posts

Social Work Units will offer services to Children and Families needing intensive
support, protection and help to achieve lasting change in their lives. We are looking for
highly skilled administrators who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and support
this important work. You will be an integral part of the team, co-ordinating the work of a
small unit of social work professionals and liaising directly with families. You must be
committed to the safeguarding of children and young people.
Key activities will include:
 Acting as first point of contact for the unit and maintain ongoing relationships
with the unit’s children and families, other BCC staff, and staff from other
agencies
 Ensuring all paper and electronic correspondence is managed in line with
agreed processes and time scales
 Supporting the unit with weekly case planning meetings and other core
business meetings with children and families and professionals from other
agencies by preparing papers, arranging dates and organising venues, keeping
accurate records and minutes, and undertaking follow-up actions
 Supporting the unit in meeting key statutory requirements through the quality
assurance of data and information within the children’s social care IT system

Are you an experienced and competent administrator who is ready for the next step in
your career? You may already have experience of supervising staff, or you may have
demonstrated your aptitude for this role in other ways. Either way, you will need to be
an excellent communicator with the credibility to lead a team and to represent the ABS
function across Bristol City Council.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the shaping of the new ABS service at
its outset. You will motivate and lead a newly established team of Admin and Business
Support staff who may work across a range of teams and locations, and you will be a
key player in bringing about a change in culture and bedding in of new standards in
ABS.
In addition, you will build strong relationships with managers whose teams are
supported by your staff, in order to understand and meet their business needs.
This is a demanding role and these are challenging times. You will receive full training
and support, both from your line manager and from a network of Team Leader
colleagues.

SUPPORT OUTREACH WORKERS
FULL AND PART TIME VACANCIES (Up to 35 hours pw)
£8.56ph rising to £8.81ph
(plus further pay award on successfully completing probationary period)
Due to the continued growth of our one-to-one outreach and day services, we are
recruiting more Support Outreach Workers to join our team. The successful
candidates will have excellent organisational skills and the enthusiasm to implement
activities with service users who have suffered a brain injury - supporting them in
regaining their confidence and learning new skills.
Working alongside paid staff and a team of volunteers, you will provide social and
cognitive rehabilitation and community outreach (both group and one to one). Our
services are provided across the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset
area. Some personal care maybe involved in accordance with individual care plans.
A minimum qualification NVQ2 in Health & Social Care (and/or level of experience) is
required and use of a car is essential for this role. The post is subject to a DBS check.
Salary: commences at £8.56 ph. Hours are normally Monday – Friday between 9am
and 5pm (flexibility is essential). Contributory pension scheme shortly to be
implemented.
As we would like to improve the ratio of male staff within our team we are keen to
