Died 5th October 2014 aged 88 years
Thanks to all those who attended Irvine Scott’s Funeral earlier today. The Club was
represented by a contingent of 11 at a service presided over by a hierarchy of the
Anglican Church including the Archbishop of Brisbane, Phillip Aspinall.
I spoke with Estelle afterwards and she graciously thanked the Club for the Honorary
Membership Certificate I presented to Irvine last week and also for the letter of
condolences I sent on everyone’s behalf. Keep her in your thoughts and keep in touch.

Last Thursday’s meeting at Steve Hammond’s Spring Hill Hotel saw 34 of us enjoy a
night of conviviality. Steve is a great host and as part of the Eulogy for Irvine, it was
appropriate to be reminded of his and Sharon’s kindness and great generosity to the
Scott family over many years. I’m glad we supported such a caring man last night in
the next chapter of his epic career. A Rotarian in all but Name.
Our Party next Friday is expected to see 160 souls celebrate our contribution to the
community over the past 75 years. A great effort by all and to misquote Austin Powers
“ are we getting our Mojo back?” - I believe we are – so let’s have a ball next week!
Bird Watching is organized – thanks Bruce Dore and David Hassall is still taking wine
orders. DG’s visit next week – a good turnout please and PHF Regalia on
show!
Through Fellowship, Fun and enough Fundraising to make a difference
in the lives of others, lets Light Up Rotary.
