Course Description
This program is designed to engage participants in an interactive and
comprehensive discussion of managing a patient with dyspnea. The faculty
will present case-based scenarios of patients’ journeys from the primary
care visit to the subspecialties. The program offers innovative and emerging
therapies and multidisciplinary approaches in the management of atrial
fibrillation including treatment options, stroke prevention and complex
ablations; new valve therapies, challenges and limitations; high level and
clinically relevant update in diagnosis, prevention and evidence-based
management of heart failure to improve patient’s quality of life and reduce
readmissions.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this knowledge-based activity, participants should be
able to:
• Discuss scientific advances in the diagnosis and management of atrial
fibrillation.
• Utilize the appropriate treatment options to improve patient outcomes.
• Identify evolving pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and
technologies to manage atrial fibrillation and AF-related stroke.
• Recognize optimal guideline based therapies for the management of
heart failure to improve transition of care and patient outcomes.
• Identify a team-based strategy (including the family) for effective patient
self-management.
• Discuss latest innovation in transcatheter therapy for aortic valve
disease.
• Demonstrate the value of a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to
management of aortic disease.
• Discuss advanced imaging techniques in assessing aortic valve disease.
