Objectives
The major objective of this course is to provide a
comprehensive review of the most important advances that
have recently been made in internal medicine . Although
board review is not the primary purpose of the course,
question-based sessions are included and are likely to be
useful to candidates taking the Internal Medicine Boards
or the Recertification Examination.

The emphasis will be placed on progress that has been
made in pathophysiology and clinical management in the
most common disorders seen by the internist and family
practitioner . Each of the major subspecialties will be covered
including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology,
hematology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology,
oncology, pulmonary disease, and rheumatology .

Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care
and Sleep Medicine

Much of the material will be presented in lecture format
by the best teachers and clinicians from two major medical
centers . In addition, each specialty will have a case-based
session using an interactive computer-based system that
will be present on your desk . This system will allow you
(anonymously) to test your knowledge in the different areas
of medicine .

cities in the world . It is blessed with spectacular
mountains, blue skies, clean air, vivid sunsets and
a mild changing of the seasons . There are many
activities available in Santa Fe on a daily or nightly
basis for you and your family . Santa Fe is the
third largest art market in the country . Browse
through an astonishing array of shops, boutiques,
galleries and fine museums . Excellent restaurants,
featuring every type of cuisine, are numerous .
Airline/Transportation - Santa Fe is served by all
major airlines through the Albuquerque International
Airport, which is just an hour's drive via Interstate 25 .
The Sandia Shuttle Express operates between the
Albuquerque International Airport and downtown
Santa Fe at convenient intervals throughout the
day . Reservations are recommended . Please call toll
free (888) 775-5696 for reservations, or visit their
