Dear Friend of the New York Asian Women’s Center:
On behalf of the New York Asian Women’s Center, I invite you to support our 32nd Annual
Phoenix Awards Gala on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Tribeca Three Sixty in New York City.
I am writing to request your participation at our benefit with a donation towards our Silent Auction
with a minimum value of $150.00. Our Silent Auction has always been a major attraction of the
evening’s festivities and is central to the success of our fundraising efforts. Some of our donors
from previous years include Estee Lauder, Museum of Modern Art, American Ballet Theatre,
Phillip Lim 3.1, NBC Universal, and our sponsors have included Avon, Citigroup and IBM, just to
name a few. To the extent you have a product or service which is truly extraordinary, we would
also consider featuring it in a Live Auction and would be grateful for that opportunity. All
donations are acknowledged in the Silent Auction Booklet and Program Journal. With close to
300 guests expected this year, your gift will receive prominent exposure amongst important
members of the Asian American community.

When NYAWC was first founded in 1982, a small group of volunteers secretly worked out of
supporters’ offices and in their homes. Since hiring its first full-time staff in 1987, NYAWC has
grown to a staff of more than 40. The New York Asian Women’s Center is unique among
domestic violence programs, as it remains the only organization serving multiple Asian immigrant
communities in New York City and is the only licensed Asian women’s shelter program in New
York State.
