School/Community Forum
October 23, 2014
Senior High School, 7:00 PM
Dear Community Member:
The community is invited to our bi-annual School/Community Forum on October 23, 2014 at 7:00 PM, at Longwood
High School. Residents are invited to express their points of view to the Board of Education, or just listen to the
comments made by others. Organizations within the Longwood community are also invited to send a representative
to comment on behalf of their organization.
This is an opportune time to address the Board of Education, and it has never been more important for your voice to
be heard. Our children are being challenged with ever increasing demands both academically and socially. Many of
these demands require that we as their parents and teachers become more involved than ever before. Once more
this year the Longwood Board of Education and District Administration will be sponsoring several parent and
community initiatives designed to involve more of our parents in their child’s academic and social/emotional
development.
In order to give as many individuals as possible an opportunity, each speaker will be limited to three minutes.
Speakers will be assigned a specific time to speak on a first-come, first-served basis as they register. Speakers
should also submit a written text of their comments. Individuals who prefer not to speak at the public forum may
submit their comments in writing. Although we will be unable to read into the record written comments from those
unable to attend, they will receive a response. We ask that this be limited to two (2) typewritten pages.
While questions are generally not answered at the Forum, each speaker will receive a follow-up response from the
Board of Education and administration.
To register or receive additional information about Longwood’s School/Community Forum, please call District Clerk
Judith Rice at 345-2795, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM, or e-mail
[email protected]. As always, we look forward to your input on Thursday, October 23. Please join us in
the Senior High School Board of Education meeting room at 7:00 PM.
Sincerely,
Daniel Tomaszewski
