Sacrament of Baptism
The sacrament of Baptism is ordinarily celebrated the 2nd
and 4th Sundays of each month at 1:15p.m. We
emphasize sacramental preparation consisting of a four
part Parish Baptism Process, in which the infant is always
present. To schedule Baptism, please call the church
office, at least one month in advance.
Letters of Recommendation
Letters of Recommendation to act as sponsors will be
issued only to parishioners who attend Mass regularly, are
confirmed and if married, are married in the Church. To
help us make this judgment, we expect you to be
registered with us for 3 months. Weekly use of envelopes
(with or without a contribution) also helps. To arrange for
Letters of Recommendation or Baptismal certificates,
please call the parish office during office hours.

Commons Area or contact the parish office during office

with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ocean and
Monmouth Counties. St. Vincent de Paul Society will be
paid by the pound for the day's collection. Donations will
be sold in local Thrift Shops and all proceeds stay right
here in the Ocean/Monmouth County area to fund the
Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program.

Our collection last week was $6,484.00
which is short by $3479.00.
***The Annual Catholic Appeal***
So far this year, as of 10/1 we have received pledges
of $35,941 from 186 Parishioners..NO CHANGE FROM
LAST WEEK. This is 74.9% of our goal. We need an
additional $12084 in new pledges to have a shot a
meeting our goal..Please continue to be as generous as
you can. If we reach our goal we can realize a
MINIMUM rebate of $9600. Our Goal = $48,000.00

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN PARTY
Each of our Religious Education Students are
required to attend 3 class masses with a parent
throughout the year in addition to attending weekly
Sunday Mass as well as Holy Days of Obligation.
Prayer cards will be issued only on the days that you
are scheduled to attend a class mass . After each
mass there will be someone in the Commons Area or in
the Parish Office that will distribute the prayer
card. Please bring the prayer card to your teacher on
Tuesday so that your attendance will be confirmed.
If your child is unable to attend the scheduled class
mass time and you need to attend a different mass
that weekend, please email Kim Lorentzen at

PUMPKIN BREAKFAST
Our Annual Family Halloween Breakfast
will be on Sunday, October 26th in the
APR following the 8:00 & 10:00 Masses.
Breakfast will include: O.J., Scrambled eggs, bacon,
sausage, pancakes, French toast, bagels, and cream cheese
and pastries. One pumpkin will be raffled off to the
children at each setting. Cost is $7.00 per adult and
$24.00 for a family of four (mom, dad, & children only
please).
“A KNIGHT AT THE
RACES”
On Saturday, November 8th,
Epiphany Knights of Columbus
#8160 will present of its’ most
important fundraiser. We need your
support and generosity for this
event. On that evening,
immediately following the 5:00PM
Mass, the Gates to “Epiphany Downs” will open and our funfilled “Knight at the Races” will be presented. There will be
nine action packed, exciting races featured with pari-mutuel
wagering available on each race.
A wonderful deli-style super featuring hot over roasted pork
sandwiches along with your favorite salads being served.
Snacks will also be provided during the races. Desserts and
beverages are included in the low admission charge of just $10
per person. You may B.Y.O.B if you wish. (Beer & wine only
please).
Since our racing program has now been computerized, be
assured that the time between each race will be minimal.

inviting lapsed Catholics back to His table
and building up the body of Christ.
Gospel: Matthew 22:15-21
Seeking to entrap Jesus in his speech, the
hostile and hypocritical Pharisees ask him
this dangerous question, “Is it lawful to pay
tax to the emperor or not?” Realizing their
treacherous motives, Jesus asks for a
Roman coin, and pointing to the inscription of
Caesar‛s he answerers, “Give to Caesar what
is Caesar‛s, but give to God what is God‛s.”
“I have called you by name, giving you a title,
though you know me not. I am the Lord,
there is no other, there is no God, besides
me”…”We keep thanking God, for all of you
and we remember you in our prayers, for we
are constantly mindful before our God and
Father of the way you are proving your
faith, and laboring in love, and showing
constancy in hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We cite a new letter of Paul, who once again
reminds us of his concern for his community
of faith. Even when he is unable to be with
them, in person, his letter becomes the
source of encouragement and support. How
do his words apply to our reality?
Three things are reflected in the life of his
followers – perseverance in faith, when so
many have become indifferent or walked
away; laboring in love, bringing Christ‛s love
and compassion to others, the homebound, in
nursing homes; showing constancy in hope,
Why should I do this? Isaiah told us that
we have been called, and we have answered.
We have come to know our relationship with
Christ, and the fruit of that experience
obliges us to share it with others. He has
given us a title – Missionary! Consider one
Person who has walked away or is fearful or
shy about returning. Pray for that person,
and ask God‛s grace to invite them back to
life in the church. (The second largest
Christian denomination in the United States,
is Catholics who no longer live the faith.)

Mass with Father Pio Mandato
On Monday, 10/20, Father Pio Mandato will celebrate our
annual Healing Mass at 7:00PM, St. Dominic‛s Church, 250 Old
Squan Rd., Brick. A special blessing with the glove of St. Padre
Pio will be offered to everyone attending. All are welcome.

Vocational discernment groups meet to assist young men who
are discerning the possibility that God may be calling them to a
life of priestly ministry. These groups are designed to explore
a priestly vocation with other like-minded men through prayer
and sharing vocation stories and experiences. The group
meetings aren‛t meant to convince anyone that the priesthood
is their vocation. They are designed to assist you in
discovering if the priesthood is your true vocation and build
your relationship with Christ along the way. If you are a
faithful, single, Roman Catholic man, between the ages of 18
and 40, and are asking yourself whether God is calling you to
be a priest, you are encouraged to attend the discernment
