FOCUS+ is an autonomous industrial radio modem designed for remote reading of electronic
devices used in the gas industry.
Compact, reliable and intrinsically safe, it can be linked directly to an Itron converter or data
logger with data being collected through our Supervisor+ software, using the Windows
environment.
Description
FOCUS+ can be connected to an electronic
device such as Itron CORUS converter or data
loggers installed in a hazardous area, through
a serial port that can be configured as RS-232
or RS-485.
FOCUS+ manages “time windows” during
which the GSM/GPRS terminal modem is
activated.
The converter or the data logger is called by
remote reading software within these “time
windows”. This function not only allows
frequent periodical readings but also provides
an important autonomy.
When FOCUS+ is used in standard
environmental and communication conditions,
the internal battery life-time is 3 years in GSM
mode and 5-years in GPRS mode. When the
battery life time is lower than 5% of its
nominal value, an alarm is activated and can
be re-transmitted by SMS.
> ALIS200 external power supply module
can provide a solution with a permanently
active modem (without “time windows”).
> The IP65 enclosure and the extended
temperature range allow FOCUS+ to be
installed in industrial conditions.
> The user-friendly interface (graphic
display and keypad) provides a very quick
and simple commissioning in the field.
> The internal antenna can be replaced for
an external one, in case of poor reception
level in the installation area.
> The optical port of FOCUS+ is used for
advanced configuration, but it is also
possible to manage configuration
remotely, via the modem.
> FOCUS+ also features 4 digital inputs for
remote alarm management (SMS alarm
transmission).
> The serial port handles Modbus TCP to
Modbus RTU conversion to simply
interface with CORUS
