Greetings to you all
Many will be wondering where the year has gone.!! And we do too. We are fast
nearing the end of a very busy year. As some of you know the funding received from
USAID was “A specific” in that our criteria for being granted the money was to
provide awareness, training and lifeskills programs. This would better equip the
community about the prevention of HIV/Aids. The importance of preserving their
lives is to be able to care for their children without the bleak prospect of
orphanhood. We wish to continue providing this awareness and campaigning in
and around the Nelspruit area. It has a very positive impact on the lives of families
with children who are at risk.
We have our AGM coming up on 5 November 2014. If you would like to join us for a
short meeting followed by light refreshments please contact Penny Jane at our
offices 013 753 3330. In this way you can get to know our organization and what
we are about.
Thereafter we will be focusing on World Aids Day coming up on 1 December which
flows into 16 days of Activism against abuse on Women and Children.
We also have our 18th Xmas Dream Tree Project running again this year. Please see
page three for details.
We wish to take this opportunity of thanking all of you out there who have
supported us through the year and enabled us to provide our services to children
and their families. All wonderful wishes to all our readers and your families for the
season of giving coming up.

Calling all readers, friends and family
We are hoping to be granted the opportunity once
again of providing a wrapping service outside the
exit door of Makro. It is of course a fundraiser to
earn much needed money. We hope to wrap 7 days
a week as from 10 December through to 24th. Up
until the 10th we would wrap Friday to Sundays.
Please use our services for a very worth cause, and
if you wish to volunteer to do some wrapping for a
good cause please contact us. WE ARE WAITING
FOR YOUR CALL AND WE HOPE TO HAVE A
FAVOURABLE RESPONSE FROM MAKRO.
Please consider supporting our endeavours to continue with awareness
campaigns/lifeskills/training so that the outcome of what we started just over a
year ago can continue to gain momentum and bear bigger fruit.
Our vision is to provide this ongoing awareness/lifeskills/training during the
school holidays at schools in and around Nelspruit area. We are appealing to the
business sector to consider supporting this project work by:
•
Adopting a days event, or part thereof, in the way of food and refreshments.
No donation is ever too small..
• Awareness items such as rulers or a pen or even a cap with a slogan relevant
to the campaign and with your logo on it “proudly sponsored by……” will be
beneficial to all concerned.
Our contact details are available on our webpage or on the last page of
newsletter.

As a child we remember the excitement that used to build as Christmas
was approaching. It was Christmas everywhere you turned, especially
at home. Remembering all the gifts that awaited us under the tree...
mom giving us clues as to what to expect, but these were the times life
long memories were built on and so each of us have our own
memories and the times we shared over Christmas. Child Welfare SA
Nelspruit has already launched
the 18th Dream Tree Project and
the public is invited to share in
the joy by purchasing that gift
mentioned on the card hanging
from the tree. The gift
mentioned on the card is the
dream gift from a specific
child. The public is welcome to
browse through these cards
and search for the gift that fits
their budget. Currently our
office Child Welfare SA
Nelspruit is aiming to make
400 wishes come true this
Christmas. As has been
