Ruth WONG Yeang Lam is Associate Professor at

She specialises in methodology courses on teaching
English at the primary level. Apart from pre‐service
teacher education, she also partners schools in
providing workshops for teachers as part of their
ongoing professional development. She works
closely with the Ministry of Education (MOE),
Singapore. She assisted in both the English
Language Syllabus 2001 and 2010. She is also a
member of the SEED Steering Committee at the
MOE.
Her research interests are in the areas of literacy and
bilingualism. In 2004, she was the principal

Dr. Yeap Ban Har teaches mathematics education
at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang

Technological University. He has previous
experience in Singapore primary and secondary
schools where he held positions as head of
department and teacher.
Presently, Dr. Yeap is involved in training pre‐service
and in‐service mathematics teachers at primary and
secondary levels. He also teaches mathematical
problem solving and early childhood numeracy to
graduate students in the masters and doctoral
programmes. He has conducted similar workshops
for teachers in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia,
Hong Kong, China, the United States of America
and United Arab of Emirates. He speaks regularly at

Dr. Yeap has authored a series of pre‐school books
that integrate children’s literature and mathematics.

Philosophy in Mathematics Education.
