A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL JAMES LYONS
Welcome to Fall!
The first month of school is winding down with students and teachers back into the routine of studies and extracurricular activities. It is great to see our building and field active and busy all the time. I want to thank the
Faculty and Staff for a great beginning. So many of our students are thrilled to be back with friends and we see
the freshman and new students making new friendships.
Our 'Parents Back to School' night was well attended, as was the Senior Guidance Night last week. The
Freshman Guidance Night is Wednesday, October 1st. I hope to see all freshman parents here for the meeting.
In talking to the class advisors we decided that the first school dance of the year should be the Harvest Dance in
October. That is usually well attended and the students look forward to it. We are also planning to have the
Christmas Ball again. More info on both will follow.
The immediate event in the future is the Spirit Walk on October 10th. This is a major fundraiser and a great day
for the students and parent volunteers who help. Students get pledges from people to support their walk. All
funds raised go to the school. The Parents Association is working hard and we have great prizes for the raffles
held that day. Each student gets tickets for the raffle by returning the pledge sheets. Additional pledges, over the
$60.00, generate more raffle tickets for the student. A BBQ lunch is provided for all.
Other dates to note include Picture Day on Friday, Oct. 3rd and the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 16th. Freshman,
sophomores, and juniors will take this test. Guidance is meeting with each class prior to the test. The Craft Fair
is Nov. 8th and 9th. Report Card night is Monday, Nov. 10th. Please make sure we have your current e-mail
address. We are looking to cut the cost of printing and mailing these newsletters and will be going to all e-mail
shortly as we have with report cards and progress reports.
October is the month of the Rosary. Our October Mass will be held on the 10th at 8:45 am at the start of Spirit
Walk. Please feel free to join us at any school liturgy. Our November Mass will be on Nov. 3rd and will be the
Alumni Remembrance Mass. The time will be announced. Please pray for all of us here at Coleman and ask
God's continued blessings on all in the Coleman Family.

Stop selling and start earning! Scrip fundraising is a noselling program that allows families to raise money for
their non-profit organization (NPO). Scrip is just another
way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place
of cash, checks, and credit cards. You purchase gift cards from your organization at face value,
and your coordinator orders those cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a reduced price. The
difference is an instant rebate for your organization. It’s really that simple! When you use scrip
gift cards at your favorite retailers, you’re fundraising while you shop. Great Lakes Scrip Center
offers over 300 of the country’s biggest brands, including grocery, department stores, gas
stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement, and more. Just by using scrip to pay for your
normal weekly purchases, you can easily raise $500 or more per year. It’s time to put your
shopping dollars to work!
