Sheridan House is committed to offering services to our community which give children
and families the opportunity to reach their full, God-given potential- opportunities that
might otherwise not be available due to impeding circumstances in the home. Each year
Sheridan House impacts over 1,053,095 individuals! Here is a list of our ministries
including the amount of children and families we helped last year:





Marriage and Family Seminars & Pulpit supply: 144,339 people in 2013.
ParentingOnPurpose.com and Weekday Radio Show on ReachFM:
Each year the radio show reaches over 1.1 million listeners. Plus
Smart-phone App Downloads and podcast subscribers.
Counseling Center: We worked with 5,010 individuals in 2013.
Single Parent Ministry: We provide a hand-up not a handout… to receive ongoing
assistance single mothers attend classes designed to equip them for life. In 2013
3,705 single moms and children received training and assistance (food, clothing,
school supplies, financial assistance, furniture and other material items).
Residential Program for at-risk children: We provide residential care for middle
school aged boys with behavioral and emotional issues. Over 139 children, parents
and siblings received assistance in 2013.
100% of the proceeds from today’s event go to supporting the ministries of

information on how to retrieve your time).

Parking is always FREE at the Goliath Gauntlet! When arriving at the property,
our volunteers will direct you where to park. Goliath Gauntlet staff and
volunteers are dressed in orange shirts and caps.

Bypass race day check-in lines! There will be an optional early packet pickup
at Dick's Sporting Goods in Plantation, Florida on Thursday, October 23 rd from
4:00pm to 8:30pm. As a supporter of the organization, Dick's Sporting Goods
will be offering an exclusive discount of 20% OFF throughout the entire store
ALL DAY on Thursday, October 23rd.
PRINT coupon on page 13 and bring it to the Plantation store to redeem. This

RACE DAY ARRIVAL
We recommend that you arrive at least an hour before your wave start time.
Remember, you have to park, pick up your packet which includes your racing
bib and timing chip, and then make your way to the starting line in time for the
start of your assigned wave.
Optional: Bring a new, unwrapped toy for underprivileged children (see Page 14 for).
*If you picked up your race packet at Dick’s Sporting Goods on October 23 rd (and are wearing
your race Bib number on your shirt) you get to bypass registration and go directly to pick up
your timing chip.

Please remember your start time before you show up. Only participants who
registered on or before October 19th at 11:59pm (EDT) will appear on the link
below:

*If you, your friends, or other team members registered after
October 19th, they will get a confirmation email the day they
register with their bib number and start time.
RACE FINISHING TIMES
Timed Events will attach a timing chip to each participant. Race times will be
published at any of the following website addresses (a reference card will also
be in your goodie bag with directions on how to get your race time):

COMPETITIVE WAVE RULES & INSTRUCTIONS
[for Competitive Waves only]

All competitors must start in the competitive wave time. 8:40am for male
participants and 8:50am for female participants.
All obstacles must be completed from start to finish. If a competitor fails
to complete an obstacle they must start the obstacle over from the
beginning. If a competitor is unable to complete an obstacle, they can
still finish the race but will not be eligible for cash prizes.
The entire course must be run. If any competitor cuts the course or skips
an obstacle they will be disqualified from any awards or prizes.
NO CLEATS OR METAL SPIKES
Competitors must not interfere or obstruct fellow competitors.
Time protests must be made by 10:00am to a Goliath Gauntlet Official at
the finish line.
The course is well-marked… stay inside the orange flags & follow the signs.
Wrist Bands for Competitive Waves only will be in your bib envelope
at registration. Please wear your wrist band so we know who you are.

TOP TEAM AWARDS
We will be awarding the Team with the best finishing time! In order to do this,
we will be combining the top five times from your team the week following the
event. Your team captain will be contacted and your team will be given a
plaque to commemorate your team achievement. Team results will also be
posted on Timed-Events.com or My-Finish.com/Goliath.
EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY
There will be photographers stationed all around the course to catch your
muddiest and sweatiest moments! You will receive an email once all the
pictures have been uploaded to the following link:

You will be able to purchase prints and/or digital downloads. Proceeds from
these sales go to support the at-risk children served by Sheridan House Family
Ministries!
SPECTATOR INFORMATION
To register as a spectator go to: www.goliathgauntlet.com/#pricing
All spectators will receive:
 Access to obstacle course area. (However, to avoid getting run over, please
stay away from the orange flags that designate the race course and keep
children close by your side).
 Access to awesome food trucks, music, vendors, and Goliath Gauntlet Gear.
Each spectator will need to fill out a waiver. To expedite the check-in process,
please print and sign the waiver by clicking HERE and bring it with you to the
registration tables. (If you are under 18, be sure you have a parent or guardian sign
as well). All spectators will check-in by last name at the registration tables along
with the race participants.
Spectator tickets are $10 online or $10 day-of at the late-registration table for all
you procrastinators! Children 12 & under are FREE.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING :
 Photo ID.
 If you pre-registered at Dick’s Sporting Goods on October 23rd, put your bib
number on before entering the gates and proceed directly to the timing
chip pick up tables.
 Please know your bib # and wave time.
 If you did not sign a waiver online when you registered, please print out
the waiver by clicking HERE and bring it to the registration tables (If you
are under 18, be sure you have a parent or guardian sign as well).
 Proper athletic attire- you will get dirty! No cleats or metal spikes.
SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING:
 Spending money for Goliath Gear and Food Trucks – Yum!
 A new, unwrapped toy for underprivileged children (see Page 14).
 Consider wearing gloves to protect your hands. Gloves are not necessary
but some competitors like gloves with rubber or leather on the inside to
help with grip on the rings, ropes and walls.
Mechanix Tactical gloves work well and
can be found at Bennett Auto Supply.
WHAT YOU SHOULD LEAVE AT HOME :
Do not bring any of the following items to the Goliath Gauntlet.
 Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the grounds or parking area.
 Outside Food or Beverage.
 Glass containers.
 No cleats or metal spikes – seriously, you don’t want to run barefoot if we
catch you.
 Pets (service dogs are permitted).
 Weapons.

DRESS CODE
The Goliath Gauntlet is a family-friendly event. Men, please leave the Speedos
at home! Ladies, no need to bring your crop tops... There will be barbwire,
wood, rope, poles, mud and rocks so please dress in a way that ensures you
will be protected and comfortable! We recommend wearing a full length
athletic tee shirt (for both men and women) so you can wear your bib number.
OPTIONAL BAG CHECK
We will have an optional free bag check area located next to registration. This
is offered as a courtesy and we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
*You will be receiving your Goliath Gauntlet bag full of goodies, dryfit shirt, and
finisher medal once you cross the finish line!
LOST AND FOUND
There will be a lost and found table in the bag check area. We are not
responsible for lost or stolen items.
*WARNING: Those running with cameras or Go-Pros are at risk of losing them in our mud
and water obstacles. It is always a good idea to place contact information on valuable
items. Be sure to secure all items while on the course.
WEATHER
 This is a rain or shine event. We do not intend to cancel or delay the
event. However, lightning, tornado warnings, or tropical weather systems
may provide cause for delays or postponement of the event.
 Please check your email and/or our Facebook Page for updates if severe
weather is forecasted for race day.

YUMMY FOOD TRUCKS
Be sure to bring cash so you can grab some yummy food! A portion of
sales go to support the ministries of Sheridan House!
FIRST AID STATION
There will be an ambulance with EMS on property as well as a first aid
station next to registration.
