shuttle buses will run from
various other venues. We would
also ask that as many people as
possible car pool or walk if you
live close by or have friends who
will allow you to park at their
house. Further information by

Over flow parking is available at
the bus stop on Mt Barker Rd on
the left as you go towards
Bridgewater. If needed call
0414 724602 if you need a ride
from this location to the school on
Saturday.

Not only is 2014 the centenary of Aldgate
School but it also marks 100 years since
the last aboriginal celebration occurred in
the district.
Saturday 25th October Old School
6:00PM – 7:00 pm informal BBQ/ salad tea at Village
Well Complex (BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL)
7:30PM Formal evening presentation featuring the
history of the school prior to 1978:• Welcome to Country - Isabelle Campbell, the
Peramangk custodian
• Commemorative Aboriginal Dance
• Official Opening
• Symbolic roll call and saluting of the flag
• Memoirs by former staff and students
• Digital presentation of early school history
• Supper
Please bring a plate of supper to share. Tea/coffee
provided. Drinks available for purchase.
Sunday 26th October
10am Centenary Celebration Church Service
The Village Well Complex- Aldgate Church of Christnow adjoins the old school and is current custodian of
the former school building and headmaster’s house.
This church formed when Stirling Church of Christ and
Aldgate Valley Churches of Christ amalgamated to
purchase the former TAFE site. Many former
students at Aldgate Primary were also members of
one or other of these churches. Anyone is welcome to
attend the morning service at 10am.
1PM – 3PM Continued informal gathering at old
school site to catch up with former school friends.
Program as for Saturday afternoon and café again
open.
