fills our mind with all kinds of doubts and fears... taking our mind off the promise.
fills our mind with all kinds of doubts and fears that beat up against us, taking our mind off the promise. Let’s say you have your vision of what you would like to do. But you don’t have the money nor do you know anyone who can lend you the money. Psalms 20: 4 says “He (God) will give you your heart’s desire and carry out all your plans.” What’s the catch? We need to seek to do God’s will first in our lives and He will add everything else. God wants us to succeed. He wants us to prosper. Why? So we can show others how great our God is and so we can bless others with what we have received from Him. Go ahead, dream big and ask God to bless that which you desire to do to further His Kingdom on earth. — Dr. Timothy Emerick KENLY PENTECOSTAL HOLINESS CHURCH 300 S College Avenue Kenly, NC 27542 (Web site) On the http:// line type in www.kenlypentecostalholinesschurch.com Children Church Every Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00 Trunk or Treat FRIDAY OCTOBER 31ST 6 PM to 8 PM Hot dogs, candy, bouncey house, fun tunnel, and more, come and join in -8- Pastor Dr. Danny Rollins 919-738-9006 KPHC Where Jesus is lifted up, The Bible is clealy taught, And the Gospel is lived out! But our goodness is not like the world’s version of goodness. Our goodness is a result of our identity. For fourth-grade girls, identity is found in a million things and can change moment by moment, but I wanted them to know their true identity. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” THAT is our identity! For my sweet fourth-grade girls, we talked about being princesses, because a princess is the daughter of a king. Think Disney princess and how they so sweetly walk through the magical kingdom. If we are living out the fruit of the Spirit we are showing that we belong and trust in the King, our God. This resonated with them, as it resonates with my own children. — Stacie Daniel (taken with permission from her blog, **************************** DREAM BIG, ASK BIG Dismissal: ”Rev. Danny Rollins” Luke 15:4-5, NLT "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders." Imagine your child seeing that you are cooking breakfast, and asking if you are going to allow him to eat. How would that make you feel? Would you think your child believes in the love that you have for him? We may be able to understand a God who would forgive sinners who come to him for mercy. But a God who tenderly searches for sinners and then joyfully forgives them must possess an extraordinary love! This is the kind of love that prompted Jesus to come to earth to search for lost people and save them. This is the kind of extraordinary love that God has for you. If you feel far from God, don't despair. He is seaching for you. -2- How does one ask in faith? Find a scripture that covers the need we have, and then ask God to help us according to that promise. God is willing, able, and wanting to complete His word in our lives. I think that God feels the same way when we have a lack of faith in His love and provision for us. God cares about every detail of our life. God does not turn a blind eye or a deaf eye to our petitions. He is there and more than willing to answer our petitions when we ask in FAITH! Then the battle begins in our mind. We ask in faith and then the devil -7- Calendar of Events For October & November Uplifted Messages By Mike Huckabee Growing up, I listened to the stories of war veterans, and I was in awe of their courage and sacrifice. It gave me a sense of feeling protected and hopeful about my own future. Perhaps you’re not aware of it, but President Franklin D. Roosevelt provided the New Testament to every military person who wanted one. In it he wrote the following words. January 25, 1941 To the Armed Forces: As Commander-in-Chief, I take pleasure in commending the reading of the Bible to all who serve in the armed forces of the United States. Throughout the centuries men of many faiths and diverse origins have found in the Sacred Book words of wisdom, counsel and inspiration. It is a fountain of strength and now, as always, an aid in attaining the highest aspirations of the human soul. Very sincerely yours, Franklin D. Roosevelt. That’s an amazing letter from the country’s commander-in-chief, isn’t it? I’d like to invite you to join me in supporting the distribution and reading of the Bible among members of the Armed Forces. There are many worthy programs out there, such as the American Bible Society, and Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society). Truth is still our foundation. Let’s continue to reinforce God’s “fountain of strength,” which for all of us is a “source of wisdom, counsel and inspiration. And the next time you see a man or woman in uniform, go up and tell them that because of them, you feel protected and hopeful! ****************************** BELONGING TO THE KING I am in the midst of teaching a fourth-grade girls Bible study. The study is on the fruits of the Spirit, and this last week we focused on the fruit of goodness. Goodness is a result of the previous fruit.
