Bernd chairs the PDG's Education and Training workgroup which he represents in the effort to set up an international certification scheme for patent searchers. Bernd is also a member of PIUG. Her research includes open innovation, vertical division of innovative labor, patents and the relationship between innovation and industry dynamics. Her works have been presented at major conferences dealing with innovation studies: DRUID Society Conference, Academy of Management, Industrial Organization Conference, and EURAM. Giulia is now affiliated to Cisco System - Corporate Development Group working on patent intelligence and technology innovation management. Susanne is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney and a Canadian patent agent who specializes in searching and analysing patent and non-patent information in order to provide intellectual property advice. She has a B.Sc. Honours degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and a M.Sc. degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Susanne also has a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from the University of Western Ontario, Canada and a Master of Industrial Property (MIP) degree from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. In June 2014, Susanne was appointed as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of World Patent Information. She is also the current Immediate Past President of the Patent Information Users Group (PIUG) which is the International Society for Patent Information. He holds a PhD in materials science and a MAS in Intellectual Property. After having worked several years as a materials scientist in the field of metals, ceramics and electron microscopy, he specialised in intellectual property and became a patent examiner and patent searcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, with an emphasis on data mining and patent statistics for high-tech sectors and emerging technologies. In addition, he has lectured at the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lausanne on intellectual property and IP management. He holds a double degree in Information and Knowledge Management of the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, Germany, and in Information Science of the University of Granada, Spain, where he actually is involved in a PhD program dedicated to patent analysis. In his professional career he worked in the field of Technology Watch and Knowledge Management for companies in Germany, United Kingdom, Singapore and Spain and has also participated in several international conferences and workshops. She obtained a Ph.D. in Chinese studies at the University of Tübingen (Germany) and is fluent in Chinese and Japanese. In 2005, Christine joined the EPO and has been working in the Directorate Product Distribution and Specialised Services since then. As a member of the Asian patent information services based in Vienna, she is mainly responsible for Chinese patent information. The Asian patent information services are offered by the EPO to help users to better understand patent information from Asian countries. In her daily work, Christine gives advice on Asian patent information and documentation matters, including assistance with searching free information sources from China. She also delivers speeches and training courses on this subject on a regular basis. He is mainly in charge of services related to Korea and provides information to users on a variety of topics such as Korean patent documentation, searches in free information sources and regular updates on new developments in the Korean patent system. He is also giving trainings and seminars on Asian patent information topics on a regular basis. Before joining the office, Jürgen obtained a Master degree in Korean Studies at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, and also spent part of his studies in Seoul for language education. Jürgen is fluent in Korean. She worked for law firms and also as an in-house counsel in Korea for about 7 years. After having moved to Germany, she completed her LL.M. and PhD in the field of intellectual property and competition law in Max-Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law. She joined df-mp in 2013 and is a member of the firm’s pharmaceuticals and chemistry practice groups. He obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Heidelberg and joined BASF in 1989. He is Chairman of the PDG working group IMPACT and of the German working group ARPAD. Among other things he is a member of several committees and working groups at the EPO (SACEPO/PDI), at WIPO (Task Forces) and in providers' advisory boards. He studied law at the Universities of Strasbourg (D.E.S.S. at CEIPI - Centre d'Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle), Heidelberg and Munich. Pierre worked as a research assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property (Munich) where he obtained his PhD on cross-border patent litigation with special emphasis on French and German law. After working in private practice, Pierre joined the European Patent Office in 2001 where he worked in Directorate Patent Law focussing on Biotech-inventions and acting as a legally qualified member in grant and opposition proceedings. He is a primary Innovation instructor of Siemens Innovation Tool Academy, General Electric Global Research (1700 scientists trained) and TRIZ Innovation Initiative of Hyundai Motor. Dr. Ikovenko received special awards for development of innovation at Procter & Gamble and Unilever. He got an award from Samsung Electronics for integrating TRIZ indo Samsung Six Sigma Black Belt training. A special Award from Hyundai Motor of 2008 concluded a 7-month innovation program led by Dr. Ikovenko that yielded 81 patents and ROI of more that 120 million dollars. The Program of 2009 yielded 245 mln dollars of ROI and 122 patents. Dr. Ikovenko is a Director of Innovation Leadership at a consulting firm GEN3Partners in Boston, holds doctorate degrees in Industrial Engineering, and in Environmental Engineering and Sciences as well as Master degree in Patent Law. He has effectively utilized his TRIZ expertise to receive 93 patents in various engineering fields. Dr. Ikovenko is the President of the International TRIZ Association. Dr. Ikovenko is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, QFD Black Belt and Lean Master-Practitioner.
